The Advanced Licensed Clinical Social Worker is the Advanced level LCSW. Positions involve intensive social work services requiring the exercise of mature professional judgment and the flexible use of a wide range of social work skills where complex, experienced diagnostic skills and intervention plans are essential. This level represents performance of services in serious and complex cases with demonstrated effectiveness based on sufficient training and experience. The Advanced Licensed Clinical Social Worker requires minimal supervision and guidance and exercises independent clinical judgment. Advanced Licensed Clinical Social Workers carry full professional responsibility for cases presenting a wide range of psycho-social and environmental barriers with no limitations as to the difficulty of services that would be performed. The Advanced LCSW serves as a role model and resource for clinical practice. In addition, the Advanced LCSW acts as a driver of departmental goals and development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Employees must abide by all Joint Commission Requirements including but not limited to sensitivity to cultural diversity, patient care, patient rights and ethical treatment, safety and security of physical environments, emergency management, teamwork, respect for others, participation in ongoing education and training, communication and adherence to safety and quality programs, sustaining compliance with National Patient Safety Goals, and licensure and health screenings.
Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.
* Prepares and maintains electronic medical records in accordance with department and/or health system policies. Provides written and oral reports and hand-offs.
* Conducts psychosocial assessment of patients/families upon admission, annually, and/or as clinically indicated to evaluate social, emotional, and physical needs by applying social work theories and techniques. Identifies and addresses barriers to care.
* Collaborates with interdisciplinary health care teams to devise, develop, and implement patient/family psychosocial treatment plans, coordinating referrals to specialty and social services including entitlement programs and other care delivery systems, and recording progress notes and the provision of continuity of care.
* Helps patients/families cope with environmental and psychological issues of illness.
* Manages independently assigned caseload with varying clinical acuity.
* Engages in case finding for patients/families with potential psychosocial needs. Attends team conferences and participates in interdisciplinary rounds as needed.
* Provides supportive counseling, grief counseling, crisis intervention, and other therapeutic services to assist patients and families to face challenges such as coping with illness, processing medical information and changes in the level of functioning and care needs.
* Provides psychoeducation to patients and families regarding adaptation to the patient's diagnosis, illness, treatment and/or prognosis. Assist patients and families in the transition from youth to adult services.
* In addition to independently managing a caseload, an Advanced Licensed Clinical Social Worker is required to significantly contribute to the overall mission and objectives of the department and hospital. These activities will be assigned by their leader and may include, and are not limited to the following:
• Provides clinical supervision of an unlicensed MSW, fellow, or student. This may be group supervision, dyad and/or triad model, as allowed by BBS.
• Trains and on-boards new employees.
• Supports members of their pod with procedural questions and complex cases.
• Represents department or pod in various hospital meetings to provide subject-matter expertise (i.e. workflow, quality/continuous improvement projects, etc.)
• Provides educational presentations in partnership with the department’s Clinical Educational Specialist to offer continuing educational opportunities for other staff
• Assigns cases to members of their pods
• Conducts Department quality assurance tasks such as chart review, competency reviews
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: Master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited college or university program or equivalent (as demonstrated by licensure)
Experience: Four (4) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
License/Certification: Valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
KNOWLEDGE

Pay Range
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.
Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $57.69 to $64.68
