    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><div><div><p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">ACLD is currently looking for a Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT)</span></strong></p><p>The Children&rsquo;s Services of ACLD provides a continuum of services to children from ages three to five in a &nbsp;pre-school. We currently have an opportunity for a Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) to join our Bay Shore facility. A SEIT would provide individualized education services to preschool children ages three to five, various settings across Suffolk and Nassau counties, in including preschools, home, or community locations</p><p><strong>Primary Purpose:</strong></p><p>The primary goal of Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) is to provide the necessary special education supports to help the child benefit from participation in a community early childhood program. The SEIT will focus on teaching the child to function within the educational setting independently without SEIT support.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>New York State Certification: Students with Disabilities (Birth to grade 2) or SWD All Grades or Special Education Permanent</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Minimum 1-year experience working with preschool aged children with special needs preferred.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Must be physically able to handle all aspects of the supervision of the day-to-day activities of preschoolers which may include, but not limited to, running, bending, squatting, sitting on the floor, and kneeling</p><p><strong>Additional Knowledge, Skills and Ability</strong></p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>The ability to work independently.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Strong written and oral communication skills</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Must plan and prioritize work effectively</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Professional, dependable and responsible</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Must adhere to strict deadlines for reporting required</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Maintain Professional Boundaries</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Flexible, Professional, dependable and responsible</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Work 1:1 with children, ages 3-5 years, in community and homebased settings&nbsp;</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Maintain positive relationships with parents, teachers, related service providers and supervisors</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Evaluate and assessing the student&rsquo;s needs</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Utilize positive behavior support strategies</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Adapt teaching methods and providing resources to meet the needs of the student</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Follow all mandates on an IEP</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Plan activities/lessons to target the IEP goals/objectives</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Ongoing assessment and documentation of children&rsquo;s performance, remediation needs, and progress.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Maintain accurate attendance records for all assigned children</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Work in diverse settings such as student homes, family daycare homes, daycare centers, and/or other community settings.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Complete and submit sessions notes after each session&nbsp;</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Complete quarterly progress reports in a timely manner in concert with municipality and SED requirements&nbsp;</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Complete annual review report(s) in a timely manner in concert with municipality and SED requirements &nbsp;</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Attend CPSE meeting(s) for student(s) as required&nbsp;</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Other duties as assigned.</p><p>Position is a per diem hourly job. &nbsp;</p><p id=\"isPasted\">Apply online at www.acld.org. &nbsp;</p><p>An EOE m/f/d/v&nbsp;</p><p>Requisition number 4477</p></div></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
