    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>Location:</strong> Lexington, Ky</p>\n<p><strong>Job Type:</strong> Part-Time </p>\n<p><strong>Schedule:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>5-hour shift between 8:00am-5:00pm</li>\n <li>Day shift</li>\n <li>Monday to Friday</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Job Focus:</strong></p>\n<p>This position is responsible for assisting the teacher in an education setting.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>1</strong></p>\n<p>Assist teacher in providing appropriate early childhood education experience</p>\n<p><strong>2</strong></p>\n<p>Demonstrate knowledge of use of space, furnishing, and developmentally appropriate activities/ materials.</p>\n<p><strong>3</strong></p>\n<p>Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication techniques to encourage children to engage in meaningful conversation</p>\n<p><strong>4</strong></p>\n<p>Support an environment which engages and assist children in developing curiosity, exploration, respect of self and others, problem solving, security, and self-esteem while avoiding verbal or physical punishment</p>\n<p><strong>5</strong></p>\n<p>Assist in planning and preparing the learning environment, materials, and supplies</p>\n<p><strong>6</strong></p>\n<p>Be able to individualize activities and make adaptions for children with special needs</p>\n<p><strong>7</strong></p>\n<p>Follow regulations regarding health, safety, and sanitation across multiple settings.</p>\n<p><strong>8</strong></p>\n<p>Maintain confidentiality, professional attitude, and loyalty to the program always</p>\n<p><strong>9</strong></p>\n<p>Assist with collection of information about each child’s development</p>\n<p><strong>10</strong></p>\n<p>Participate as a team member in planning, coordination, and implementing the program</p>\n<p><strong>11</strong></p>\n<p>Act as an “ambassador” of the center by showing a warm, welcoming attitude toward families and their involvement in the life of the program</p>\n<p><strong>12</strong></p>\n<p>Participate in professional development as required to improve performance and to expand personal knowledge of child development, interdisciplinary practice, and family centered services</p>\n<p><strong>13</strong></p>\n<p>Develop and implement a written individual growth plan</p>\n<p><strong>14</strong></p>\n<p>Assist with general housekeeping tasks, and keeping classrooms in clean state including mopping, trash, etc.</p>\n<p><strong>15</strong></p>\n<p>Understand and comply with city and state regulations and licensing standards</p>\n<p><strong>16</strong></p>\n<p>Provide other services as required for the efficient functioning of The Salvation Army</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>1</strong></p>\n<p>High school diploma or GED Required; some college preferred</p>\n<p><strong>2</strong></p>\n<p>18 years or older</p>\n<p><strong>3</strong></p>\n<p>Must meet requirements of city and state licensing agencies (Background checks, CPR, First aid, & TB Skin test)</p>\n<p><strong>4</strong></p>\n<p>Previous experience working with children</p>\n<p><strong>5</strong></p>\n<p>Creative, Enthusiastic, highly organized, flexible, good communication</p>\n<p><strong>6</strong></p>\n<p>Clean and neat appearance</p>\n<p><strong>7</strong></p>\n<p>Ability to lift to 50 pounds</p>\n<p>Experience:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Childcare: 2 years (Preferred)</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Work Location: In person</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, sex, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><em>The Salvation Army’s Mission StatementThe Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church.Its message is based on the Bible.
