This role plays an essential part in helping students succeed academically, behaviorally, and socially through individualized support, evidence-based interventions, and close collaboration with teachers and clinical staff. Paraprofessionals help create a safe, respectful, and consistent learning environment while promoting student growth and independence.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Sign-On Bonus:</strong></p><ul><li>$1,000 total sign-on bonus -- $500 paid after 90 days of employment. Additional $500 paid after 180 days, based on continued employment in good standing&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Pay Rate:</strong></p><ul><li>&nbsp;Our compensation is competitive within the market. The starting rate for this position begins at $17.50 per hour, with your final offer based on a combination of your education, relevant experience, and overall qualifications.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>What You’ll Do:</strong></p><ul><li>Build positive, respectful relationships with students while supporting dignity, safety, and high expectations.&nbsp;</li><li>Provide direct classroom support using evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies, including Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).&nbsp;</li><li>Assist with implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs), behavior intervention plans, and skill-building programs.&nbsp;</li><li>Support students during transitions, classroom instruction, related services, and community-based activities.&nbsp;</li><li>Collect and document accurate data on student progress, behavior goals, and daily notes.&nbsp;</li><li>Support students with personal care needs including toileting, hygiene, feeding, and mobility assistance as needed.&nbsp;</li><li>Maintain classroom structure, visual supports, organization, and readiness for learning.&nbsp;</li><li>Assist with crisis prevention and response procedures following safety plans and required training.&nbsp;</li><li>Administer medications and complete required documentation as trained and authorized.&nbsp;</li><li>Collaborate closely with teachers, behavior clinicians, therapists, and fellow paraprofessionals.&nbsp;</li><li>Provide floating support across classrooms or student groups as needed.&nbsp;</li><li>Participate in team meetings, required trainings, and ongoing professional development.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>What We’re Looking For:</strong></p><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required&nbsp;</li><li>College coursework in education, psychology, or related field preferred&nbsp;</li><li>No direct experience required; one year of related experience preferred&nbsp;</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills&nbsp;</li><li>Excellent organizational and time management skills&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to remain calm, professional, and emotionally regulated in high-pressure situations&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to safely support and supervise students throughout the school day&nbsp;</li><li>Willingness to complete and implement crisis intervention and de-escalation training&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to administer medications safely as trained&nbsp;</li><li>Commitment to teamwork, student advocacy, and creating a positive learning environment&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Benefits:</strong></p><ul><li>Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance through BCBS (6 plan options; eligible after 60 days)&nbsp;</li><li>401(k), HSA, Flexible Spending Account, Short-Term &amp; Long-Term Disability&nbsp;</li><li>PTO and Sick Time begin accruing on Day 1&nbsp;</li><li>$100 monthly wellness spending account after 90 days&nbsp;</li><li>OnDemand Pay (access earned wages when needed)&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>About BHA Academy:</strong><br> BHA Academy is dedicated to supporting students with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges through individualized education, evidence-based behavioral support, and compassionate care.
