The Carruth Center for Counseling and Psychological Services at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Director, Carruth Center for Counseling & Psychological Services. About the Opportunity: The Director of Carruth Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CCCPS) provides visionary leadership and comprehensive oversight for all clinical, administrative, and operational functions within the CCCPS. The Director will be responsible budget planning and management, and oversight of program staff, including full-time and part-time staff and clinical trainees. The Director is responsible for working with key WVU leadership, faculty, staff, and clinicians to advance an integrated, high-quality system of care to meet the behavioral health needs of WVU students and promote student well-being and institutional excellence. The Director partners closely with WVU leadership, faculty, clinicians, and WVU Medicine partners to design and implement a seamless, stepped-care model that meets the evolving needs of adverse student population. The Director fosters a culture of clinical excellence, innovation, inclusion, and accountability while developing and supervising a high-performing, multidisciplinary team. Develop and support a coordinated and integrated system of care that reduces barriers to care across WVU Medicine, WVU wellness initiatives, public health programs, and community providers. Provide support, executive leadership, and education regarding student mental health to senior administration and campus partners. Ensure strong stewardship of financial, human, and technological resources to support scalable, accessible, and high-quality delivery of integrated clinical care. Establish priorities in conjunction with the strategic vision of the Division of Student Lie, the Office of Student Well-being, and the needs of the University community. Represent CCPPS on leadership bodies, University committees, and WVU Medicine partnerships, advancing institutional priorities and fostering collaboration. Build, mentor, and sustain a high-performing clinical and leadership team, ensuring professional growth, accountability, and innovation. Clinical Administration and Management: Oversee all administrative and clinical operations, including effective organizational structure, appropriate staffing, and optimal service delivery systems. Lead recruitment, training, supervision, evaluation, and retention strategies to ensure a highly qualified, licensed, diverse, and clinically responsible workforce. Provide threat, crisis, and risk assessment as needed and requested by University partners. Coordinate and supervise crisis intervention response processes and systems for CCCPS, including providing clinical back-up and supervision for the leadership team and on-call clinicians. Serve as an active member on the TACT and CARE teams, contributing to campus-wide crisis response, threat assessment, and intervention efforts. Provide supplemental clinical services for students during times of high demand and/or high case complexity. Develop and implement a robust system of quality assurance, safety monitoring and improvement, utilizing data tracking and assessment to inform ongoing evaluation of service effectiveness, student needs, and reach. Ensure a qualified and clinically capable workforce through focused recruitment and the advancement of high-quality training and professional development for CCCPPS staff, including continuing education to maintain licensure and ensure state-of-the-art clinical excellence in student mental health, risk assessment and management, and multicultural counseling.
