Recognized as the Department of Defense's constructive disruptor for space acquisition, SDA delivers space-based capabilities to the joint warfighter to support terrestrial missions through development, fielding, and operation of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture. SDA capitalizes on a unique business model that values speed and lowers costs by harnessing commercial development to achieve a proliferated architecture and enhance resilience. We are seeking a Space Systems Engineer to support SDA’s mission. Responsibilities include: Responsibilities Provide technical support and advisory services on complex space systems integration and test efforts Oversee systems engineering processes, including cost, schedule, and performance tradeoffs Support the development of test objectives, plans, schedules, and the execution of the tests, supporting analysis and developing reports Work with multiple teams and program offices supporting the coordination, development and execution of system test plans and integration efforts to include the planning, coordinating, executing tests, deconflicting resources, analyzing test data, identifying and facilitating the resolution of issues, and documenting test results Perform risk management activities, including identification and assessment, and develop risk mitigation strategies Support application product managers and coordinate cross-functional teams (i.e. Government, Military, SETA, FFRDC, UARC, & Industry) Develop briefings, written reports, and assessments to be provided to a variety of audiences, from working level to senior executives Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering and math Minimum of 8 years experience with satellite and fire control systems TS/SCI clearance; #qinetiqclearedjob Strong Experience in requirements development and tracking Technical and analytic understanding of satellite and ground system interaction Experience in systems engineering Ability to work in fast paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications Masters degree in science, technology, engineering and math Agile framework experience including use of Jira/Confluence Company EEO Statement Accessibility/Accommodation: If because of a medical condition or disability you need a reasonable accommodation for any part of the employment process, please send an e-mail to [email protected] or call (540) 658-2720 Opt. 1 and let us know the nature of your request and contact information.
