Description

JOB SUMMARY: The Resident Assistance Specialist plays a critical role in supporting residents who are experiencing financial hardship and are at risk of losing housing. This position works directly with residents to identify solutions that help them remain housed by coordinating rental assistance resources, developing payment plans, and navigating eviction prevention processes. The ideal candidate is compassionate, resourceful, and experienced in property management and social service coordination. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Work one-on-one with residents who are unable to pay rent to assess needs and identify viable solutions. Source, coordinate, and maintain relationships with local, state, and nonprofit agencies that provide rental assistance. Assist residents in applying for rental assistance programs and follow up on application status. Develop and manage payment plans in collaboration with residents and property management. Educate residents on their options and responsibilities while working toward housing stability. Assist residents in applying for rental assistance programs and follow up on application status. Collaborate with property management teams to prevent evictions whenever possible. Maintain accurate documentation and records related to assistance efforts and outcomes. Act as a liaison between residents, management, and assistance organization. Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor with residents and coworkers.
