Expectations typically would include:</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work.</span></p><ul><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Monitor and inspect equipment, computer terminals, switches, valves, gauges, alarms, safety devices, and meters to detect leaks or malfunctions and to ensure that equipment is operating efficiently and safely</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Observe and interpret readings on gauges, meters, and charts registering various aspects of boiler operation to ensure that boilers are operating properly</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Analyze problems and take appropriate action to ensure continuous and reliable operation of equipment and systems</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Maintain daily logs of operation, maintenance and safety activities, including test results, instrument readings, and details of equipment malfunctions and maintenance work</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Investigate and report on accidents</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Receive instructions from steam engineers regarding steam plant and air compressor operations</li></ul><h2><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Qualifications</span></h2><ul><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">4<sup>th&nbsp;</sup>Class Stationary Steam preferred but not required.</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Bachelor&#39;s degree or equivalent operating 2+years&#39; experience in Boiler operations&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Power Engineering</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Marine Engineering &mdash; Pulp and Paper background preferred</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Ability to troubleshoot</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Ability to work in hot environments</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Ability to meet physical requirements associated with position</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Must possess independent decision making and critical thinking skills</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Must possess good mechanical and electrical systems aptitude</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Willingness to progress through the line of promotion to become a Lead Operator in the Cogen or Recovery Departments Proficiency with computer systems</li></ul></div></div></div></div>\n",
