This role ensures that all tooling operates efficiently, accurately, and safely, minimizing downtime and contributing to the overall productivity and quality of manufactured parts. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a thorough understanding of tool and die construction and function.</p><p><br></p><p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p><p>* Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all production tooling and dies, including cleaning, lubrication, inspection for wear and damage, and necessary adjustments.</p><p>* Troubleshoot and diagnose tooling malfunctions and failures, identifying root causes and implementing effective repair solutions in a timely manner.</p><p>* Repair and rebuild damaged or worn tooling components, including but not limited to dies, inserts, pins, and guide bars.</p><p>* Perform precision fitting and alignment of tool and die components to ensure proper function and dimensional accuracy.</p><p>* Utilize various hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments perform maintenance and repair tasks.</p><p>* Operate and maintain tool room equipment such as grinders, welders, pressure washers, and drill presses to modify, clean, repair, or fabricate tooling components as needed.</p><p>* Assist in the design and development of new tooling and fixtures, providing input on maintainability and durability.</p><p>* Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately and maintain detailed records of tooling condition and history.</p><p>* Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address tooling-related issues and implement improvements.</p><p>* Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.</p><p>* Assist with the installation and removal of tooling from production machinery.</p><p>* Stay up-to-date on the latest tooling technologies and maintenance practices.</p><p>* May train and mentor less experienced maintenance personnel.</p><p><br></p><p>Qualifications:</p><p>* High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or apprenticeship in tool and die making or maintenance preferred.</p><p>* Strong understanding of tool and die design, construction, and function.</p><p>* Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.</p><p>* Excellent mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.</p><p>* Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical problems.</p><p>* Experience with various tool room equipment and precision measuring instruments.</p><p>* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.</p><p>* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.</p><p>* Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.</p><p>* Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to tooling and machinery.</p><p><br></p><p>Preferred Qualifications:</p><p>* Experience with specific types of tooling (e.g., progressive dies, transfer dies, injection molds).</p><p>* Welding experience (e.g., TIG, MIG).</p><p>* Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.</p><p><br></p><p>Physical Requirements:</p><p>* Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.</p><p>* Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and reaching.</p><p>* Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.</p><p>* Ability to work in varied environmental conditions (e.g., noise, temperature).</p><p><br></p></div>\n",
