We value fostering and sustaining an environment of diversity and inclusion where everyone can reach their full potential.</span><br></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(112, 173, 71); font-weight: bold;\">WHAT WILL YOU DO</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: black;\">The Timber Cruiser is responsible for forest development activities including the development of cruise plans, operational timber cruising, quality control, data summary</span><span style=\"color: black;\">, the development of final cruise maps, and the compilation of cruise data and deliverables.  This is a field focused position, but some office work will be required.  Work in other phases of timber development should be anticipated.</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"color: black;\"> </span><span style=\"color: #70ad47;\">QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: black;\">A safety conscious attitude</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: black;\">A minimum of 1 year filling the role of a head timber cruiser in British Columbia</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: black;\">A thorough understanding of British Columbia Timber Cruising Manual</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: black;\">Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract is a must</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: black;\">ATC or ATE accreditation or working towards becoming an ATC or ATE is preferred</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: black;\">Registration with the FPBC (or eligible for registration) as a professional forester (RPF) and/or forest technologist (RFT) will be considered as an asset</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: black;\">The participate in previous Northern Interior Cruising Committee and/or Southern Interior Timber Cruising Association workshops will be considered an asset</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: black;\">Experience with helicopter access will be considered an asset</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: black;\">Experience in supervising, mentoring, and coaching technical assistants</span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(112, 173, 71); font-weight: bold;\">WHO YOU ARE: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Team oriented professional with a friendly and courteous manner</span></span><span><br></span></li>\n<li><span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">A strong verbal and written communicator</span></span></li>\n<li><span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">A problem solver with e</span><span style=\"color: black;\">xcellent analytical and critical-thinking skills</span></span><span><br></span></li>\n<li><span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">An independent person able to work under limited direct supervision as well as in a dynamic team environment </span></span><span><br></span></li>\n<li><span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and seasons</span></span><span><br></span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: rgb(112, 173, 71); font-weight: bold;\">LOCATION:</span><br><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Prince George, <span>located in central British Columbia, is the largest city in the province’s north and known as its \"Northern Capital.\" Situated at the confluence of the Fraser and Nechako Rivers, it's surrounded by forests, rivers, lakes, and mountains offering ample outdoor recreation.
