    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>Location:</strong> Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Hours of Performance:</strong> Services shall be provided Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0700 and 1800 hours.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Benefits:</strong> Vest vacation, sick leave, holiday leave, Life, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Short Term Disability</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Optional Benefits:</strong> Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(K) matching with employee participation in 401(K) plan</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>Actively participate in quality improvement planning, problem resolution and monitoring.Participate in meetings to review and evaluate the care provided to patients, identify opportunitiesto improve the care delivered, and recommend corrective action when problems exist.Assess the health needs of patients and recognize symptoms that indicate the early stages ofserious physical, emotional or mental problems. Take into account the psychological andsociological needs of each patient.Assist the physician with specific procedures and treatments related to the subspecialties withinthe OB/GYN Clinic.Chart nursing observations and interventions and ensure record is complete with all proceduresand test results recorded.Implement and coordinate the nursing process in compliance with currently approved standardsof care.Instruct patients and/or families in preparation for various tests, obtaining specimens and initiatearrangements for follow-up care when required.Interview patients to obtain initial history prior to being seen by the doctor. Review the medicaldiagnosis and treatment plan when one has been established. Interpret and execute the physician’sorders.Maintain a liaison with other health care professionals and community referral services.Coordinate health care needs by making appropriate referrals.Maintain required clinic records, electronic records, patient charts, forms, logs, records, registers,census reports and collect required statistics.Manage the stable phases of chronic illnesses. Provide emergency treatment as indicated. Initiatearrangements for follow-up care.Perform a full range of RN duties in accordance with assignment under the task order, including:triage; patient assessment and monitoring; use of patient monitoring and treatment equipment;appropriate nursing care, procedures, and treatments; execution of physicians’ orders within theguidelines of standard nursing practice; documentation of patient care and observations; andpatient education and emotional support.Prepare equipment and assist physicians with treatment procedures.Serve as a patient advocate.Adhere to the nursing process in addressing patient problems, understanding levels of need andprioritize care following established policies and procedures.Successfully complete the MTF IV placement test.Prepare and administer IVs and monitor their proper function.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Degree:</strong> Bachelor of Science in Nursing. </li>\n <li><strong>Education: </strong>Graduate from a college or university accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).</li>\n <li><strong>Experience:</strong>Possess a minimum of one (1) year of experience as an RN working in women’s health orambulatory care setting within the last two (2) years</li>\n <li><strong>Licensure: </strong>Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse as required in the TO. </li>\n <li><strong>Certifications:</strong> Basic Life Support (BLS)</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Kako’o Services LLC</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Kako’o Services is a premier provider of healthcare workers to various military treatment facilities across the United States.
