This role requires someone who works well independently while remaining a strong collaborator and team player. The successful candidate will serve as ZTR’s on-site technical representative, working closely with customers and internal stakeholders. The position involves hands-on troubleshooting, system commissioning, customer training, and resolution of complex technical issues. This role is based in the United States, in <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">East St. Louis, Illinois or North Little Rock, Arkansas,</span> and reports directly to the Technical Service Manager in London, Ontario, Canada.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">The <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Field Service Engineer</span> will be responsible for:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Configure and support ZTR control systems using advanced PLC knowledge</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Perform on-site commissioning and investigative troubleshooting of ZTR equipment</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Provide technical training to customers on-site</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Collaborate with and support the sales team as required</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Participate in project coordination and project management activities as needed</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Travel domestically and internationally (approximately 15%–30%, including travel within the U.S.)</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Experience and skills our <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Field Service Engineer</span> needs:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Minimum 3-year diploma in Electronic Engineering Technology, or </span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Professional Engineer, or</span><br><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Valid electrician license</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Strong ability to troubleshoot electrical control systems and locomotive electrical systems</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Advanced PLC programming and configuration skills</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Basic to intermediate understanding of Ethernet networking, including LANs, WANs, VPNs, and Wi-Fi</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Proficiency with standard computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Strong judgment and decision-making skills, particularly in high-pressure situations</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Hands-on technical experience required</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Candidates with locomotive and/or freight railway experience will be given preference</span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"><em>Please apply even if you don’t qualify for all responsibilities or skills. </em></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Why Choose ZTR?</span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">ZTR offers a positive working environment and a group of friendly and talented industry leaders passionate about driving environmental and financial benefits for our clients.
