Teachers are responsible for the education of their students. They are expected to demonstrate high moral character and have mastery of the subjects they teach. Teachers will work collaboratively to create a working and learning environment for all students that is safe, secure, and respectful. Special Education Teachers report to the Director of Student Services on Northwest Classical Academy’s Kennesaw campus. This position starts July 2026.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:</strong></p><ul><li>Adhere to the school’s mission and the principles of classical education.</li><li>Plan, organize, and implement content-focused, differentiated lessons for students across multiple grade levels.&nbsp;</li><li>Develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) under the direction of the Director of Student Services&nbsp;</li><li>Collaborate with general education teachers and support the Director of Student Services in matters pertaining to Special Education</li><li>Develop and maintain a climate and culture of joy, order, and wonder in the classroom, managing student misconduct promptly and appropriately</li><li>Engage professionally and charitably with students, parents, other faculty, and staff &nbsp;</li><li>Model good judgment, prudence, virtue, self-discipline, and responsibility&nbsp;</li><li>Engage in professional development to deepen understanding of subject content and classical pedagogy</li><li>Evaluate student performance, maintain grade books in Infinite Campus, and communicate proactively with parents</li></ul><p><strong>Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>A Bachelor's Degree in a related field from a fully accredited college is required.</li><li>Per state guidance, Special Education Teachers must possess the following qualifications:&nbsp;    <ul>      <li>Valid Professional Standards Commission approved certificate in appropriate educational field at level T-4 or above</li>      <li>Valid Professional Standards Commission approved subject-specific endorsements&nbsp;</li>    </ul></li><li>Previous experience in classical education is preferred but not required.</li><li>Candidates should possess excellent written and oral communication skills.</li></ul><p>Strong candidates will support the school’s Mission: to develop students in mind and character through a classical, content-rich curriculum that emphasizes the principles of virtuous living, traditional learning, and civic responsibility. &nbsp;They will have enthusiasm for the Vision: to be a nationally regarded K-12 classical school and serve as a local and national incubator for growth and promotion of classical education.
