This is your chance to join our team - help us to design the infrastructure and buildings that improve the world!</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">We are looking for Senior Construction Inspectors (WVDOT Level IV) in the Charleston, WV area.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">The Senior Construction Inspector is responsible for managing and performing daily construction management and inspection services for various types of WVDOH and locality transportation projects.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Inspection performed on projects that include but are not limited to:</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Resurfacing</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Slide repairs</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Bridge and roadway construction</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Construction management</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Performing field inspection of Contractor&#39;s operations to see that they comply with contract documents;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Preparing daily and weekly reports on work accomplished by Contractor;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Performing materials testing and maintaining testing logs;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Reviewing periodic pay estimates for accuracy with Contractor;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Preparing sketches and assembling data for Engineer&#39;s use in making changes to the project;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Keeping diaries and making reports on work accomplished and/or noted deficiencies;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Performing sophisticated, complicated mathematical calculations;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Reviewing Contractor schedules including initial CPM and monthly updates;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Communicating effectively with the all parties involved in the project, including the Owner and Owner&#39;s operational and field staff on a regular basis;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Keeping them apprised of field conditions and maintaining active communications and excellent rapport with the Owner and the entire project team throughout the construction process</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Must have a High School diploma or State Equivalency Certificate</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Must have 10+ years of approved technical experience</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Certified as, or possess the qualifications to certify as, a WVTRET Level IV in the WVTRET Certification program&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">West Virginia Division of Highway (WVDOH) experience required</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Highway construction inspector experience required</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Basic computer skills (Word &amp; Excel) required</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Must be flexible and able to work in a team environment and/or independently</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Proven work ethic and willingness to learn and complete training provided</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">We will train the right person with the right attitude</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Must be willing to work nights and overtime, when required by the project assignment</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Associate&rsquo;s Degree or higher in a field related to engineering, technology, or construction, or other related advanced certificate preferred and highly desired</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Preferred applicants have demonstrated inspection and management experience with roadway and bridge construction, utility construction, and related pavement rehabilitation projects requiring monitoring a contractor&#39;s work for conformance to the design plans, specifications and general permit requirements</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">SiteManager experience and WVDOH Materials Certifications a plus (aggregate sampling and technician, Portland Cement concrete inspector and technician, soil and aggregate compaction technician, asphalt plant and asphalt field compaction technician)</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Physical Requirements (Essential Functions):</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">This position requires the ability to perform a variety of physical tasks in the field as part of the essential job functions. Duties may include:&nbsp;</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Walking and navigating across rough or uneven terrain such as mud, rocks, grass, dirt, steep hillsides, heavily wooded areas, and other unpaved surfaces</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Moving around active project sites, which may involve climbing ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, or poles</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Performing physical activities such as bending, twisting, kneeling, and climbing</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Remaining in a stationary position&mdash;either standing or sitting&mdash;for extended periods of time</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds and/or carting objects up to 50 lbs distances up to100 yards.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Must be able to drive to and from project sites&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Must be able to function safely in an environment with potential risks, including, but not limited to those described in this document.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Work from heights exceeding 6 feet</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Must be able to wear a properly fitted safety harness and be knowledgeable of the correct use and of regular inspection of the harness and components</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Must be willing to work nights and overtime, when required by the project assignment</strong></li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">The work environment may include exposure to a range of environmental conditions, including high and low temperatures, precipitation, and other outdoor elements.
