The Fitness Instructor must be adept at balancing multiple tasks with a friendly, courteous demeanor.</p>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong>:</p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Observe participants and inform them of corrective measures necessary for skill improvement;</li>\r\n\t<li>Instruct participants in maintaining exertion levels to maximize benefits from exercise routines;</li>\r\n\t<li>Teach proper breathing techniques used during physical exertion;</li>\r\n\t<li>Evaluate individuals&#39; abilities, needs, and physical conditions, and develop suitable training programs to meet any special requirements;</li>\r\n\t<li>Monitor participants&#39; progress and adapt programs as needed;</li>\r\n\t<li>Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations governing sports, recreational activities, and the use of exercise equipment;</li>\r\n\t<li>Administer emergency first aid, wrap injuries, treat minor chronic disabilities, or refer injured persons to physicians.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Hours </strong><em><strong>(Initial job training hours may vary as well as when the needs of the facility change.)</strong></em></p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Discuss your availability with the Hiring Manager and/or notate it on your application.</li>\r\n\t<li>Weekday&nbsp;Hours based on club needs.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Skills</strong></p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift</li>\r\n\t<li>Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead up to 30 minutes of workday (i.e., assisting in stocking/maintaining inventory levels) with appropriate safety equipment</li>\r\n\t<li>Ability to occasionally bend at waist with some twisting up to one hour of workday</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>18 years old or older</li>\r\n\t<li>A High School Diploma Or Equivalent required, <em>Associates degree preferred</em></li>\r\n\t<li>CPR/AED Certification preferred.</li>\r\n\t<li>Six months face to face customer service experience in a retail environment required or 1-year Fitness experience preferred</li>\r\n\t<li>Bilingual a <em>plus</em></li>\r\n\t<li><em>Certification is required to assist and coach members.
