Job Description The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible, in collaboration with Operations Leadership for the assessment, for the implementation, planning, evaluation and supportive application of existing and new clinical knowledge and the translation of knowledge to practice to meet targeted Clinical needs. Contribute to safe, quality care by: Managing a workload effectively in a fast-paced environment. Addressing and resolving issues in a productive, respectful manner. Exercising sound professional judgment and using best practice guidelines. Contributing to a safe, inclusive environment for all through compliance with patient and staff safety policies and procedures. What must you have? Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario as an RN or RN (EC), in good standing Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, required. Member of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario, required. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate, required. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificate, required. Minimum of 5 years of relevant nursing experience including a minimum of 2 years of hemodialysis nursing experience required. What else do you bring? Effective knowledge transfer, program planning and evaluation skills. Superior interpersonal, coaching, and leadership skills to facilitate identification and development of staff learning needs. Committed to excellence in all aspects of the discipline including professional practice, research and education. A strong desire to promote professional practice and excellence in evidence-based, patient centered care. Demonstrates ability in teaching, program planning and evaluation strategies. Proven ability to facilitate ongoing staff development through mentoring, coaching and counseling skills. Use and apply adult learning principles in teaching and learning opportunities. Advanced clinical assessment skills. Demonstrates ability to provide effective clinical practice leadership. Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to achieve outcomes through programs delivered to individuals and groups. Proven attendance record. Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all. Ability to perform the essential duties of the job. Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others. Demonstrates behaviours consistent with Mackenzie Health’s Commitment to Caring. Models behaviour that is aligned with the values of Mackenzie Health – Excellence, Leadership and Empathy. Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for staff and clients within a challenging and exciting health care environment.
