We offer flexible scheduling and professional growth through cross-training, and work collaboratively to support diagnostics and critical interventions, contributing directly to exceptional patient care and positive outcomes. </p>\n<h2>What You Will Do</h2>\n<p>Performs diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and bodystructure, providing quality images for interpretation.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Sets up and adjusts all equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams.</li>\n <li>Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures.</li>\n <li>Performs routine and complex studies and assists in a variety of imaging procedures.</li>\n <li>Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations.</li>\n <li>Ensures equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.</li>\n <li>Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).</li>\n <li>Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.</li>\n <li>Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You Will Need</h2>\n<p><strong>Licensure / Certification / Registration:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.</li>\n <li>Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) at time of hire.</li>\n <li>Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) within 6 months required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Education</strong>:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>About UAB St. Vincent’s</h2>\n<p>UAB St. Vincent’s, a proud part of UAB Medicine, is a trusted provider of health care, serving Alabama for more than 125 years.
