    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><link href=\"https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/[email protected]/css/froala_editor.pkgd.min.css\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\"></div><p><strong>Department:&nbsp;</strong>Animal Care</p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Hattiesburg Zoo</p><p><strong>Shift:</strong> Generally 24 hours per week on a schedule requiring a mix of weekdays, weekends, evenings and holidays as required.</p><p><strong>Summary:</strong> Technician must be self-motivated and able to complete jobs and move on to the next task with little or no supervision. &nbsp; Must be able assess the problem, offer and implement working solutions for the problem and calculate the time and materials needed to complete work. Technician are responsible for preventative maintenance and repairs of surfaces, furniture, fixtures and equipment at all properties owned and/or operated by the Commission. &nbsp;Technician are required to perform high quality work while searching for ways to continuously improve the functionality and appearance of equipment and facilities. &nbsp;They must work well on their own and with others. &nbsp;</p><p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Perform basic tasks including painting and filling crevices, clean facilities and managing maintenance repairs.</li><li>Perform repairs on company machinery, equipment or appliances.</li><li>Detect and report the need for major maintenance repairs.</li><li>Regularly check facilities and properties to identify issues, mechanical failure or breakdowns.</li><li>Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.</li><li>Repair plumbing, electrical and other systems.</li><li>Maintain the appearance of outside spaces, including lighting, parking lots and sidewalks.</li><li>Test and repair of basic electrical circuits such as switches and outlets.</li><li>Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and buildings.</li><li>Perform repairs and maintenance of plumbing fixtures and valves.</li><li>Operation of man lifts both platform and boom style.</li><li>Perform work from ladders and lifts at varying heights.</li><li>Light carpentry skills&nbsp;</li><li>Performing basic repairs to sheetrock and wall coverings, painting.</li><li>Installation and repair of basic floor coverings and coatings.</li><li>Daily communications with Supervisor to discuss project and repair status and set priorities.</li><li>Must be available for evening, weekend and holiday work as required.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Two years maintenance experience within an industrial facility preferred.</li><li>Graduation from high school or accredited equivalency program.</li><li>Ability to demonstrate good oral and written communications.</li><li>Ability to anticipate and effectively deal with a large number of details with concurrent and overlapping deadlines for completion.</li></ul><p><strong>Essential job qualifications:</strong></p><p>Must retain a valid driver&rsquo;s license and meet the eligibility requirements to drive while conducting company business.</p><p><strong>Physical requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to seventy five pounds and have sufficient dexterity to walk, kneel, crouch or crawl for long periods while performing work.</li><li>Ability to climb ladders up to thirty feet.</li><li>Tolerance to work in adverse conditions such heat, cold, dust and inclement weather.</li></ul><p><strong>Knowledge and Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>General Mechanical skills</li><li>Electrical commercial / residential</li><li>Plumbing</li><li>Carpentry</li><li>Painting / sheetrock</li></ul><div><div class=\"fr-view\"><div><div><div><div><div class=\"fr-view\"><div><br></div></div></div><p><br></p></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
