By offering mentorship and robust Training and Development opportunities, IND<u>US</u> continues its pursuit to be the Employer of Choice. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Reporting to the Program Manager, the <strong>Simulation Modeling Engineer (System Engineer) </strong>supports development and enhancement of undersea warfare models used within the WAF HWIL simulation environment. The engineer modifies and optimizes models to improve simulation fidelity while ensuring compliance with strict timing constraints.<strong> </strong>This is a <strong>contingent</strong> position expected to be located in <strong>Newport, RI</strong>.</p>\n<h2>What You'll Do</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Develops and modifies high-fidelity models supporting undersea vehicle simulation including dynamics, target models, and environmental models.</li>\n <li>Improves model fidelity through enhancements such as improved propagation modeling, buoyancy calculations, and sensor modeling.</li>\n <li>Ensures models meet real-time timing and fidelity requirements defined in system specifications.</li>\n <li>Integrates models into the WAF simulation environment.</li>\n <li>Conducts verification and validation testing to confirm compliance with performance requirements.</li>\n <li>Supports delivery of model documentation and technical reports in accordance with project CDRLs.</li>\n <li>Utilizes modeling tools including MATLAB and Simulink. </li>\n <li>Bid and proposal support if requested.</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What We're Looking For</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>An <strong>active</strong> secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.</li>\n <li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required.</li>\n <li>Three (3) years of experience developing or modifying high-fidelity models to meet timing and fidelity performance criteria.</li>\n <li>Five or more (5+) years of experience developing or modifying high-fidelity models.</li>\n <li>Experience with acoustic models related to undersea systems.</li>\n <li>Experience with undersea weapon system or UUV simulation environments.</li>\n <li>Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills. </li>\n <li>Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).</li>\n <li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.</li>\n <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills. </li>\n <li>Demonstrated problem-solving skills. </li>\n <li>Must possess strong time management skills. </li>\n <li>Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.</li>\n <li>Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time.
