Currently seeking a Grade Foreman for our roadway construction project in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina (Cornelius).</span></p><p><strong>Summary/Objective</strong><br>The Grade Foreman is a field position that is responsible to organize and lead a crew to safely and efficiently perform mass earthwork and excavating activities, balancing highway and road construction/reconstruction. The Foreperson works under the general direction of the Superintendent.<br><br><strong>Essential Functions</strong><br>&middot; Coordinating construction work according to priorities and plans.<br>&middot; Plan, organize and lead grading crew.<br>&middot; Producing schedules and monitor attendance of crew.<br>&middot; Allocating general and daily responsibilities.<br>&middot; Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans.<br>&middot; Schedule aggregate material quantities and deliveries. Determine trucking needs and schedule truck.<br>&middot; Allocate general and daily responsibilities.<br>&middot; Supervise and train workers and tradespeople.<br>&middot; Ensure labor and other resources are adequate.<br>&middot; Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met.<br>&middot; Supervise the use of machinery and equipment.<br>&middot; Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget.<br>&middot; Resolve problems when they arise.<br>&middot; Report on progress to managers, engineers etc.<br><br><strong>Position Type and Expected Hours of Work</strong><br>This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday &ndash; Friday, 7:00 a.m. &ndash; 3:30 p.m. with time provided for lunch, hours may vary. Work may be local or out of town in which case overnight stays are required. This position frequently requires long hours and weekend work.</p><p><strong>Travel/ Driving</strong><br>Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.<br>Driver&rsquo;s license is required.<br><br><strong>Supervisory Responsibility</strong><br>Assigning work to subordinates, as well as establishing deadlines and modifying work schedules to meet deadlines as needed<br><br><strong>Required Education and Experience</strong><br>&middot; High school diploma or equivalent.<br>&middot; Proven experience as construction foreman<br>&middot; diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc.) a plus.<br><br><strong>Why you should apply:</strong><br>Excellent working environment<br>Working for a company that cares about your success<br>Working for a growing company with great benefits!<br><br>Employment is conditional on satisfactorily completing all pre-employment requirements including background and drug screen.
