  "key_responsibilities": "<div><!--block-->The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:</div><ul><li><!--block-->Assigns and manages estimating team.</li><li><!--block-->Direct Take-Off efforts for assigned portions of the estimate.</li><li><!--block-->Actively participate in strategy meetings on project approach, schedule, and strategy.</li><li><!--block-->Prepare an Estimate Specific guideline for all of the required items that must be performed during the preparation of the estimate and submittal of a bid</li><li><!--block-->Lead discussions on scope, access, risk coordination with other disciplines</li><li><!--block-->Participate in overall project strategy and risk discussions</li><li><!--block-->Manage the preparation and negotiation of the estimate and prepare critical portions.</li><li><!--block-->Present assigned portion of estimate in the In-House Review and, if applicable, the Joint Venture Review.   "skills_knowledge_expertise": "<div><!--block-->**Please note--Requirements are essential, but preferences have flexibility. **<br><br>Requirements:</div><ul><li><!--block-->12+ years of construction experience or equivalent combinations of technical training and construction experience are required but exposure, experience, or internships are all beneficial to your candidacy.&nbsp;</li><li><!--block-->7+ years of estimating experience in Heavy Civil.</li><li><!--block-->Civil Engineering or Construction Management Degree (preferred) or alternative field exposure/experience will be considered in place of a degree.&nbsp;</li><li><!--block-->Knowledge of plan reading and interpretation, take-off, MS-Excel software, construction means, methods, and productions, scheduling, and common sense are a must.</li><li><!--block-->Knowledge of MS-Word, P-6 Scheduling, MS-PowerPoint, Agtek, Bluebeam, and/or HCSS software are pluses.</li><li><!--block-->Must be able to navigate uneven terrain for pre-bid site investigations.</li><li><!--block-->Travel is required</li></ul><div><!--block-->Preferred Experience:</div><ul><li><!--block-->Experience in Heavy Civil, Structures, Transit, or Transportation construction is preferred.</li><li><!--block-->Ideally will have worked as a Field Engineer on heavy/civil construction projects.</li><li><!--block-->Previous experience managing junior level estimators is preferred.&nbsp;</li><li><!--block-->Interest or experience in Transit, Civil or Structures estimating and construction is ideal.</li></ul><div><!--block--><br>PHYSICAL DEMANDS &amp; WORK ENVIRONMEN</div><div><!--block-->The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
