This role closely monitors project cost, progress, scheduling and quality (if applicable), including scopes of work and forecast completion. The Project Controls Manager typically reports to the Senior Project Manager or Project Executive. <br><br>The Weitz Company has been Building a Better Way since 1855. We believe our employees to be our most valuable asset, and we are committed to growing a diverse and inclusive culture that inspires, motivates, and continuously improves.<br></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">What You’ll Do Every Day:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Manage and monitor compliance with project scheduling, quality control (if applicable) and reporting requirements</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Create, monitor and manage project financials and cost reporting</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Ensure project schedule is updated weekly; identify and address long lead items; discuss with project leadership as needed</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Review schedule updates and status, cost updates and cost projections with project teams</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Understand contract terms and obligations to ensure work in progress is within scope; coordinate and communicate with applicable project team members</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Collaborate with project team to implement and monitor compliance of project quality control plan and related programs, if applicable</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Assess and monitor established workflows and/or systems to ensure maximum utilization across platforms; identify and initiate process enhancements</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Lead regular project meetings</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Assist with preconstruction efforts (i.e. create preliminary schedule, detect constructability issues)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Partner with project team to implement and execute project goals</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Foster and maintain working relationships with all personnel involved in the construction process; initiate third party relationships when opportunities arise</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Identify and approve value engineering and scope reduction opportunities within delegated authority</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Some business travel is required. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What We're Looking For:</span><br></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Education: </span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">A college degree in a construction-related field is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Experience: </span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">7 years of construction project management, project scheduling, or cost controls experience is required</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">LEAN principles experience and ability to apply principles is desirable. OSHA 30 preferred, or the willingness to obtain upon hire.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Data center construction experience is preferred. </span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Skills: </span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Independent judgment, ability to multi-task, decision making, organizational skills, self-starter with strong verbal and written communication skills, conflict resolution, problem-solving, effective internal and external communication, project management, team leadership, tact, adaptability and analytical abilities are all necessary skills for a Scheduler.</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Technology: </span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Proficiency with operating systems and basic computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Asta, P6, Procore, JDE, and Outlook.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(67, 60, 58); font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Employee must have the ability to learn other specific software.
