If who we are and what we do resonates with you, we invite you to join our high-performance team!\n<h2>Job Summary</h2>Coordinates inbound and outbound logistical operations, including inventory management, warehousing and transportation to ensure sufficient supply of goods and products | Controls the commercial impact of the complete range of activities from receiving, locating and dispatching, sourcing, purchasing and optimizing inventory levels | Administers an effective system that meets the organization's inventory control needs through efficient transportation of raw materials, component parts and/or finished goods\n<h2>Impact of the Role</h2>\n<h3>General Profile</h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines </li>\n <li>Solves complex problems </li>\n <li>Works independently, receives minimal guidance</li>\n <li>May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives </li>\n <li>Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience</li>\n <li>Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Essential Functions</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Assists in the development of policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost control. </li>\n <li>Collaborates with other teams to improve efficiency, productivity and processes. </li>\n <li>Conducts distribution and network studies, monitors inventory and analyzes requirements to develop strategies to achieve desired delivery times and order fill rates. </li>\n <li>Maintains appropriate records and prepares reports. </li>\n <li>Coordinates logistics activities with internal/external customers. </li>\n <li>May also include responsibilities for Inventory Control including: </li>\n <li>Ensuring that inventories are secure, properly identified and readily accessible to authorized personnel | Maintains controls over various types of inventories (e.g., raw materials, subassemblies, finished goods) | Conducts physical inventory counts and reconciles results with inventory records | Ensures that quantities of incoming and outgoing shipments are correct | Conducts analyses of inventory levels and coordinates with production and sales requirements </li>\n <ul>\n  <h2>Additional Responsibilities</h2>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Ability to negotiate rates and select carriers to perform transportation in all modes, truck, ocean, air.</li>\n   <li>Working knowledge of mode transport language when communicating with carriers, origin and consignee partners.</li>\n   <li>Working knowledge of carrier invoicing and application to appropriate program finance reporting needs.</li>\n   <li>Ability to attend and participate in Integrate Product Team (IPT) meetings with suppliers and USG partners.</li>\n  </ul>\n  <h2>Required Qualifications</h2>\n  <ul>\n   <li><strong>Required education and experience:</strong> Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience</li>\n   <li><strong>Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills:</strong> Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)</li>\n  </ul>\n  <h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2>\n  <ul>\n   <li><strong>Preferred education and experience:</strong> Bachelor's Degree</li>\n   <li><strong>Discipline/Major:</strong> Business or Supply Chain Management preferred.</li>\n   <li><strong>Knowledge, skills & abilities:</strong> Oral and written communication skills. Computer skills. Mathematical skills. Analytical thinking skills. Statistical knowledge. Problem-solving skills.</li>\n   <li><strong>Certification:</strong> Hazmat certification</li>\n   <li><strong>Practical Knowledge Of:</strong>\n    <ul>\n     <li>Regulations governing movement of materials requiring Transportation Protective Services (TPS)</li>\n     <li>Carrier invoicing and application to appropriate program finance reporting needs</li>\n     <li>Shipment platforms (i.e Agistix) for scheduling, tracking and managing individual shipment transactions</li>\n     <li>US and International Customs Brokerage activities</li>\n     <li>Hazardous materials shipping and documentation requirements.</li>\n     <li>International Airlines Transportation Association (IATA) and International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG)</li>\n    </ul></li>\n  </ul>\n  <h2>Physical Requirements</h2>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.</li>\n   <li>Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.</li>\n   <li>May need to stand for long periods of time.</li>\n   <li>Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.</li>\n   <li>Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.</li>\n   <li>This position is Safety-Sensitive.</li>\n  </ul>\n  <h2>Travel Requirements</h2>Up to 25% travel likely.\n  <h2>_____________________________</h2>The above statements describe the general nature and level of work only.
