Overview
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently seeking Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer, Ultrasonographer) to support operations at the Eureka Veterans Affairs CBOC located at 930 West Harris Street Eureka, CA 95503. Ultrasound Technologists shall have in depth knowledge of ultrasound scanning and optimizing examination potential. The technologists shall collect and communicate all pertinent clinical information to the Radiologist. The technologists shall explain exams to the patients as well as proper patient preparation requirements. The technologists shall also work closely with other department technologists and continue quality improvement activities on a daily basis. Available shift schedules include days, evenings, and nights. If you accept employment with Ansible, you must also acknowledge that any assigned schedule is subject to change at the direction of either Ansible or its customers. Responsibilities
Maintains in depth knowledge of ultrasound scanning and optimizing examination potential Collects and communicates all pertinent clinical information to the Radiologist Explains exams to the patients as well as proper patient preparation requirements Works closely with other department technologists and continues quality improvement activities on a daily basis Sets up radiographic suites and ensures that sterile supplies, contrast materials, catheters, and other required equipment/supplies are present and available Prepares and administers contrast material orally, by enema, or under close supervision of radiologists, intravenously but not independently; as required by procedure or patient’s condition, monitors vital signs (blood pressure and heart rate), and reports any significant changes to a radiologist Lifts, positions, pushes, and transfers patients, supplies, and/or equipment as needed Performs related clerical duties such as sending images to PACS, archiving images, and case editing of computer requests and reports As required, maintains records and enters patient information into the computer through the use of the Radiology Veterans Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA) package Qualifications
English language proficiency Registered or registry eligible in Sonography by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), shall have a minimum of two (2) years of work experience in the specialized modality in a Level 1 hospital setting, and shall be able to work with minimal or no supervision Note - Student internship and training time spent in a radiology setting does not count toward the two (2) years of experience Experience with Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS), experience with Agfa PACS is preferred but not required American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required No sponsorship available All candidates must be able to:
Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
Lift up to 20 lbs
Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
