Job Summary: OMC, a rural hospital dedicated to providing comprehensive healthcare services to underserved communities, is seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychotherapist to join our behavioral health team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide mental health support to individuals, families, and groups, with a focus on therapy and counseling. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for mental health care and will thrive in a rural setting where they can make a meaningful impact on the community's well-being. Qualifications: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT), or related field. Valid, unrestricted license to practice as a Psychotherapist (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) in Wisconsin. Strong experience in providing psychotherapy and mental health counseling in individual, group, and family settings. Familiarity with a range of therapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, and family systems therapy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse patients and their families. Experience working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds, including children, adolescents, and adults. Ability to manage a caseload independently, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. A compassionate, patient-centered approach to therapy and mental health care. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Strong cultural competency, particularly in providing care to underserved populations in a rural setting. Responsibilities include: Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy to patients experiencing a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress, and relationship issues. Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and other relevant approaches. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ mental health needs, including psychological, emotional, and behavioral evaluations. Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with patients, setting therapeutic goals and tracking progress. Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support for patients in acute distress, including facilitating referrals to higher levels of care when necessary. Offer psychoeducation to patients and families on mental health conditions, coping strategies, and healthy communication skills. Provide counseling services for individuals, couples, and families dealing with challenges such as trauma, addiction, relationship issues, and life transitions. Maintain confidential and accurate clinical records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and other documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including physicians, psychiatrists, social workers, and case managers, to ensure comprehensive care for patients. Participate in community outreach programs focused on mental health education, wellness initiatives, and promoting mental health awareness in the rural community. Adhere to ethical guidelines and best practices in providing psychotherapy services. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience working in rural or underserved communities. Knowledge of teletherapy/telehealth practices (preferred). Interest in community-based mental health initiatives and outreach. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR). Physical Requirements for the Role: Example: standing for long periods of time, manual dexterity required to manipulate small objects such as a keyboard, etc. Work Environment: Full-time position as a 1.0 FTE. Supportive, small-town atmosphere with a focus on work-life balance. Access to continuing medical education (CME) and professional development opportunities.
