We are looking for passionate, driven individuals to join our team focused on <em>Delivering Solutions and Improving Lives</em>.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We are seeking a Senior Geologist with 7–10 years of experience in engineering geology and geotechnical consulting to support a diverse portfolio of municipal infrastructure and DSA-regulated projects across Ventura County and surrounding regions.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This role requires strong technical expertise in site characterization, geologic hazard evaluation, and geotechnical collaboration, along with experience navigating California regulatory frameworks, including DSA requirements.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform and lead engineering geology and geotechnical investigations</li>\n <li>Conduct detailed geologic mapping, subsurface interpretation, and hazard assessments\n  <ul>\n   <li>Evaluate:\n    <ul>\n     <li>Seismic hazards (fault rupture, ground shaking)</li>\n     <li>Liquefaction potential</li>\n     <li>Slope stability and landslide risk</li>\n    </ul></li>\n   <li>Prepare technical deliverables including:\n    <ul>\n     <li>Geotechnical & Engineering Geology Reports</li>\n     <li>Fault investigation reports (Alquist-Priolo compliance)</li>\n     <li>Grading and foundation recommendations</li>\n    </ul></li>\n   <li>Develop subsurface models using borings, CPT data, and lab results</li>\n   <li>Provide geologic input for:\n    <ul>\n     <li>Foundation design</li>\n     <li>Retaining structures</li>\n     <li>Earthwork and grading plans</li>\n    </ul></li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Plan and oversee field exploration programs (drilling, logging, sampling)</li>\n <li>Perform geologic logging and classification per ASTM/USCS standards</li>\n <li>Coordinate with drillers, lab testing facilities, and survey teams</li>\n <li>Monitor construction activities including: o Excavation observationso Subgrade evaluationso Geologic hazard mitigation implementation</li>\n <li>Prepare and support DSA submittals and responses to plan check comments</li>\n <li>Interface with: o Public agencies (cities, counties)o School districts (K-12 / community college DSA projects)o Design teams and structural engineers</li>\n <li>Ensure compliance with: o California Building Code (CBC)o Local grading ordinanceso State geologic hazard regulations</li>\n <li>Manage scope, schedule, and budget for small-to-mid-sized projects</li>\n <li>Mentor junior geologists and review technical work</li>\n <li>Support proposal development and client relationship management</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>B.S. in Geology, Engineering Geology, or related discipline (M.S. strongly preferred)</li>\n <li>Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG in California)</li>\n <li>7–10 years of experience in geotechnical/engineering geology consulting</li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience with:</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Municipal/public works projects</li>\n  <li>DSA (Division of the State Architect) projects in California</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Strong understanding of:</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Southern California geology</li>\n  <li>Seismic hazards and regulatory zones (e.g., Alquist-Priolo, Seismic Hazards Mapping Act)</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Proficiency in:</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Geologic logging and subsurface interpretation</li>\n  <li>Technical report writing and documentation</li>\n </ul>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The pay range for this California position is $130,000- $160,000 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per California Senate Bill 1162. Base pay information is based on market location.
