    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Senior Cloud Engineer serves as a senior technical expert responsible for designing, implementing, and managing hybrid IT environments that leverage Amazon Web Services (AWS) and on‑premises Windows Server infrastructure. This role provides strategic and hands-on engineering support for enterprise applications and critical mission needs, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and scalability.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position aligns with Cayuse’s core values of Innovation, Excellence, Collaboration, Adaptability, and Integrity by fostering technical solutions that meet customer needs, promoting teamwork, and prioritizing quality in deliverables.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead the engineering, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise applications hosted in AWS and on‑premises Windows Server environments.</li>\n <li>Provide operations and maintenance (O&M) support, including patching, hardening, system upgrades, performance tuning, and routine maintenance.</li>\n <li>Deliver infrastructure support during core and non-core hours, as needed, to meet mission and operational requirements.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Cloud Engineers, Database Administrators, and Security Engineers—to ensure system compliance, reliability, and security.</li>\n <li>Support application development, deployment, and lifecycle management activities in close coordination with internal and external stakeholder teams.</li>\n <li>Design, implement, and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure proactive identification and resolution of issues.</li>\n <li>Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, configuration standards, runbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).</li>\n <li>Identify opportunities for automation and optimization within the environment and drive continuous improvement initiatives.</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in cloud engineering, systems engineering, or a closely related discipline.</li>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree (4-year) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.</li>\n <li>Strong expertise with AWS services, including but not limited to:\n  <ul>\n   <li>S3, EC2, ECS, RDS, VPC, CloudWatch</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Advanced Windows Server administration experience, including installation, configuration, security hardening, patching, and performance optimization.</li>\n <li>Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools).</li>\n <li>Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and auto-scaling solutions in cloud environments.</li>\n <li>Experience supporting the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and working within Agile/Scrum/Kanban frameworks.</li>\n <li>Proficiency with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence for work management and documentation.</li>\n <li>Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues across application, network, and infrastructure layers.</li>\n <li>Excellent technical writing and documentation skills, including the ability to create clear diagrams, procedures, and design artifacts.</li>\n <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks, and identify and implement system and process improvements.</li>\n <li>Proven experience mentoring junior team members and contributing to team capability growth is highly desirable.</li>\n <li>Active Top Secret Security Clearance is required.</li>\n <li>Must be able to pass a background check.
