Description

This position may be relocated to an alternate CTTP site in which there is room to adequately house the position. SUMMARY Develops, implements and oversees California Tribal TANF Partnership’s (CTTP) educational goals and monitors participant progress at all locations. Provides comprehensive educational programs and services to eligible families and children within the CTTP program. Performs these duties personally or through subordinates. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Develop and oversee CTTP’s educational programs and curriculums for all CTTP locations, ensuring programs are presented in a culturally-relevant manner. Educational programs may encompass all levels of education and all school age eligible CTTP Participants. Work closely with the Culture and Wellness Department to coordinate youth activities that are both educational and culturally relevant. Coordinate High School Equivalency (HSE) options in CTTP service areas for any CTTP participant who does not currently have an HSE. Research on site HSE tutoring and testing options. Design, test, and implement HSE tutoring at CTTP office locations as needed. Coordinate tutoring options for any CTTP youth participant who is either not maintaining a 2.0 GPA (or equivalent) or is voluntarily seeking tutoring. Design and implement tutoring programs at CTTP office locations as needed. Plan, coordinate and implement workshops and one-on-one assistance with College and trade school applications. Assist in financial planning, financial aid, scholarships and other financial opportunities. Coordinate CTTP High School age participants to attend college motivation events. Attend Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings in support of the CTTP participant family and assist in IEP implementation as needed. Assist CTTP participant families in eliminating barriers for children who are not attending school enough to qualify for CTTP services or are in danger of falling into this category. Supervise employees in the Education Department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures and all applicable laws. Interview; train; plan, assign and directing work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints; and resolve problems.
