    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>AMERICAN SYSTEMS, a <strong>100% employee-owned</strong> federal government contractor, is seeking a <strong>Linux Systems Administrator with Tier 1 & 2 experience</strong> to support a classified <strong>High-Performance Computing (HPC)</strong> environment in <strong>Dallas, TX</strong>.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Are you an experienced<strong> Linux administrator</strong> with <strong>strong system fundamentals</strong> wanting to expand your skillset into <strong>HPC environments</strong>? If so, this role is for you! You will work alongside senior system administrators and engineers,<strong> receiving hands-on exposure to HPC platforms</strong>, distributed storage, and advanced computing technologies while supporting secure, production Linux systems.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position includes a <strong>$5,000 Sign-on Bonus</strong> on top of a comprehensive compensation package!</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>As a <strong>Linux Systems Administrator</strong> with AMERICAN SYSTEMS supporting HPC environments, you will have the opportunity to do the following:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide<strong> Tier 1 and 2 Linux systems administration</strong> support for HPC users</li>\n <li>Support daily operations of <strong>HPC compute, storage, and network</strong> environments</li>\n <li>Maintain Linux <strong>servers</strong>, <strong>workstations</strong>, and <strong>storage systems,</strong> including Lustre and Bright Cluster Manager</li>\n <li>Administer user accounts, groups, and permissions</li>\n <li><strong>Triage service tickets</strong> and produce basic service metrics and reports</li>\n <li>Support installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, backups, and security for HPC hardware and software</li>\n <li>Perform <strong>hardware break/fix</strong> and assist with network, firewall, and security activities</li>\n <li>Support RMF requirements and follow IT policies, processes, and procedures in a mission-driven environment</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Active <strong>Top Secret clearance</strong> with SCI eligibility</li>\n <li>U.S. citizenship required</li>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline <strong>or</strong> equivalent relevant experience</li>\n <li><strong>5–7 years </strong>of<strong> Red Hat Enterprise Linux </strong>systems administration experience in production environments</li>\n <li>Experience providing Tier I or Tier II operational support, including troubleshooting and ticket triage</li>\n <li>Current DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification (<strong>Security+ CE</strong> or equivalent)</li>\n <li>Current <strong>RHCSA / RHCE</strong> certification or <strong><em>ability to obtain within 6 months of hire</em></strong></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Technical Requirements</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Hands-on experience, including <strong>user management</strong>, <strong>permissions</strong>, <strong>services</strong>, and <strong>system monitoring</strong></p></li>\n <li><p>Scripting experience using <strong>BASH </strong>(or Python) for system administration tasks</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience supporting <strong>VMware vSphere</strong> environments</p></li>\n <li><p>Working knowledge of <strong>RMF</strong> and Linux system hardening</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Pay Transparency Statement</h2>AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $120,000.00/Yr. - USD $150,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
