Description

Job Purpose Direct and manage the overall manufacturing operations of the facility. Responsible for leading department initiatives through a collaborative team effort to fulfill customer requirements, team building and training. Provides leadership to first line supervisors in production departments including establishing objectives, setting goals, and managing accountability for attaining deliverables required of supervisory team. Job Duties and Responsibilities Partners with HR to develop and adjust manpower based upon sales forecasting, historical trending and/or machine capability rates Assist in the identification, implementation and evaluation of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives in operations to increase productivity and efficiency rates Partner with internal operations suppliers (HR, quality, safety, production control, etc.) to ensure quality, delivery, safety, etc. goals are achieved Deliver to customers while accomplishing goals in business plan Responsible for managing build schedules Responsible for developing budget for manufacturing group Housekeeping-Maintain appearance of World Class Facility Manage maintenance of line Required to facilitate monthly/weekly/daily departmental meetings May be required to work across multiple shifts and/or weekends as determined by plant manager or designate Plans, organizes, integrates, and measures the work performed within the department Ensure appropriate leadership and development of his/her team: define clear objectives, allocate resources, monitor activities, allocate fair rewards, provide developmental opportunities etc. Encourages and implements team member involvement Education and Qualifications Leads / Acts through Dana's Strategy & Values Strategic Problem Solving, Decision Making & Judgment Business / Technical Acumen Intellectual Rigor Align Talent & Strategy Develops Talent (Self or Others) Continuous Learning Performance Leadership Demonstrates Participative Management Style, Builds Trust & Engages Others Interpersonal Communication Professional Presence Customer Focused Accountability Acts with Initiative, Urgency, and Agility Leverages Resources Change Leader / Adaptability / Continuous Improvement Skills and Competencies Ability to communicate orally with vendors, management, and other co-workers, both individually and in front of a group is crucial.  Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time; stoop, kneel, bend, twist, reach, push, pull, grasp, and pinch on a continual basis; occasional will need to stand or walk. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer, mobile devices, copiers, and touch screens. No heavy lifting is expected; the employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10-20 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 20-50 pounds. The employee is frequently required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations and to receive ordinary information. Employees may be subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
