    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\" data-pasted=\"true\"><strong><u>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</u></strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: -0.25in;\"><li>Applies sound engineering principles in the design of economical, safe, reliable, and efficient electric utility power systems.&nbsp;</li><li>Prepares engineering studies, plans, specifications, evaluations, cost estimates, construction bills of material, construction drawings, permitting and assessments for a variety of engineering design projects, based on coordination with client, their engineers, architects, and contractors.</li><li>Provides CAD work for substation drawings that include site. plan views, elevations, foundation and grounding details, wiring diagram, and schematics</li><li>Ensures design products are complete, accurate, include the appropriate level of detail, align with client standards, and meet all relevant regulations and code requirements. Participates in and ensures QC/QA procedures are followed.</li><li>Occasionally partners directly with clients to form an understanding of and to define project scope, constraints, and design requirements, and provides support through construction completion.</li><li>Works with other team members to inspect clients&rsquo; distribution grid system and provide damage reports during major outage restoration activities.</li><li>Knows and practices safe working distances in or around energized substations.</li><li>Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish non-routine tasks.&nbsp;</li><li>Works somewhat autonomously on various projects.&nbsp;</li><li>Provides support and assists others within the department as required.&nbsp;</li><li>Provides positive example to other team members of appearance, attitude, and behavior.</li><li>Attends online and onsite client meetings.&nbsp;</li><li>Participates in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.&nbsp;</li><li>Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.&nbsp;</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.<strong><u><br></u></strong></li></ul><p><strong><u>COMPETENCIES</u></strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: -0.25in;\"><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills&nbsp;</li><li>Demonstrated ability to consistently deliver products that are complete, accurate, and include appropriate level of detail</li><li>Communication proficiency</li><li>Proactive, self-starter that can complete assignments with little or no direct oversight</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\" data-pasted=\"true\"><strong><u>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS</u></strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: -0.25in;\"><li>Minimum of three years&rsquo; related utility design/drafting experience. Associate&rsquo;s degree (A.A.) in engineering studies or similar from two-year college or technical school preferred.</li><li>Overall understanding of the construction and operation of utility grid systems.</li><li>Ability to perform engineering calculations for the proper selection of support structures, fixtures, cable, wire, and equipment to meet code requirements, local regulations, and client standards related to electrical and physical clearances and loading.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience and familiarity with various types of utility substation projects and the application of appropriate standards to design, as well as with various applicable utility codes and regulations. Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. Preferably proficient in multiple software common to utility design, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, ACADE, Vault, Inventor , SpidaCalc, ArcGIS, PLS CADD, NISC, Partner, etc.&nbsp;</li><li>English language skills: ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate clear, concise verbal and written messages in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization in a professional manner.</li><li>Mathematical skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.</li><li>Reasoning skills: ability to clearly define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
