We’re looking for a Sous Chef who can also step into a Camp Cook role during break-up — someone who takes pride in feeding people well, can deliver consistent service during guest season, and is comfortable working independently when operations transition. About Blachford Lodge Blachford Lodge by Arctic Kingdom is a premier fly-in wilderness lodge located outside of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. We deliver immersive, year-round northern experiences and pride ourselves on high-quality food, strong team culture, and operating with care in a remote, off-grid environment. What You’ll Do During Guest Season (Sous Chef) Support the Head Chef in delivering high-quality, from-scratch meals Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner service for guests and staff Bake breads and support menu execution Accommodate dietary needs with care and consistency Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen During Break-Up (Camp Cook) Independently plan and cook meals for staff and contractors Build practical, cost-effective menus based on available supplies Manage inventory, reduce waste, and coordinate resupply needs Adapt to changing crew sizes and operational priorities What We’re Looking For Experience as a Sous Chef, Cook, or Camp Cook Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, remote environment Valid Food Handler Certificate Legally entitled to work in Canada What You’ll Get Competitive seasonal compensation Room and board provided on-site Flights to and from Yellowknife covered End-of-season retention bonus Participation in staff gratuity pool (during guest season) A unique opportunity to live and work in the North What to Expect Remote, fly-in work environment Long and physically active days Shared accommodations and team-based living A role that shifts between structured kitchen service and independent camp cooking Join Us If you’re someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in feeding people well, and is looking for something different from a standard kitchen role — we’d love to hear from you.
