Description
The Clinical Laboratory Support Manager will oversee the hospital's outpatient phlebotomy and manage all outpatient clinical laboratories. Coordinates with the Laboratory Operations Director in management of all CAP point-of-care testing, as well as point-of-care and lab support CAP inspections, and reference laboratory testing. The Clinical Laboratory Support Manager will also be responsible for staff scheduling, active participation in outpatient department meetings, serving as a subject-matter expert in the laboratory pre-analytic field, and managing courier logistics. Reports to the Laboratory Director.
Responsibilities
Supervise and manage the day-to-day activities of the hospital-based phlebotomy and processing personnel. Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular performance assessments and provide feedback to staff for continuous improvement. Develop and implement strategies to streamline and enhance the hospital's point of care testing program. Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure proper training, competency assessments, and compliance with regulatory standards. Develop, review, and update laboratory policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulatory guidelines. Communicate changes effectively to staff and ensure understanding and adherence. Develop and maintain staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and efficient workflow. Address scheduling conflicts and adjust staffing levels as needed. Actively engage in hospital and unit department meetings to provide updates on laboratory activities, share insights, and collaborate on cross-functional initiatives. Represent the laboratory in discussions related to patient care and safety. Serve as a subject matter expert in the pre-analytic phase of laboratory operations. Provide guidance and training to staff on best practices and emerging trends in the field. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken.
Paid Family Leave: Up to 240 hours (6 weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or parent after 6 months of consecutive employment.
Holidays: 12 set paid holidays each year.
