Campus : JCC- Johnson County Campus Pay Classification: Adjunct (25$/Hr.) FLSA Status : Exempt Department : Job Training and Workforce Partnerships Reports To : Program Coordinator Job Summary : Responsible for the success of the total teaching/learning process within the assigned classroom, laboratory, shop, or other learning environment. Minimum Required Education: CPR Instructor Certification American Heart Association. Minimum Required Experience: Preferred: Experience teaching in higher education within the instructional area being taught Recent experience (last three years) as a Certified CPR Instructor. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be able to teach according to the American Heart Association curriculum. Ability to be detail oriented. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multi-task with minimal supervision. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Ability to operate a computer and other standard office equipment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to think critically and apply appropriate problem-solving skills. Ability to articulate and support the values and Code of Conduct of Hill College. Ability to interpret and abide by the policies and procedures of Hill College Ability to operate instructional technology including LMS(Learning Management Systems) systems and distance learning tools. Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information. Demonstrated customer service skills. Demonstrated initiative to engage in continuous learning of new concepts, skills, and experiences. Demonstrated organization skills. Demonstrated time-management skills. Working knowledge of the guidelines of the state agency / accrediting agency for departments with regulation from outside agencies. Working knowledge of all regulations in adherence to required licenses and certifications. Working knowledge of the Hill College vision and mission. Essential Job Functions: Performs and carries out instruction, including careful planning of the course, preparation of lessons, meeting all scheduled classes, clearly informing students of course requirements, and fairly and impartially grading all students in accordance with the standards established by the institution. Sets a high standard in academic and scholarly excellence, personal integrity, and professional ethics. Conducts class discussions of subject matter within the scope of the course, the instructor's field of expertise, and professional competence. Maintains familiarity with recent publications and journals and participates in local or national professional societies and meetings where appropriate. Contributes to the development and review of curriculum. Adheres to the course syllabi and textbooks adopted for each course. Teaches classes as assigned by the appropriate. Maintains work area, shops, labs, and/or equipment in safe and sound condition. Submits all paperwork in an appropriate and timely manner. Other Information: Texas Drives License required Security sensitive position. Potential Travel Physical Requirements: Light work; exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. The use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of force greater than that for Sedentary Work. Prolonged periods of sustained posture, intense attentiveness, and walking and/or standing.
