The Diesel Auto Tech performs car service, repair, preventive maintenance, in-fleeting service, and vehicle reconditioning service according to company policy and procedures. The position requires the exercise of reasonable judgment and initiative and performs all responsibilities with a focus on the needs of our customers and in accordance with our quality standards. Minimal customer interaction involved. This position is located at our Service Center - 7001 Essington Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19153.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We offer hourly pay - <strong>we are not a flat rate shop, get paid for the time you work.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Total pay for this role is $36.00 / hour for: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Diesel / Bus Auto Tech with 5 years of experience and 4 ASE certifications <strong>OR</strong> </li>\n <li>Diesel / Bus Auto Tech with 5 years of experience and 1 OEM bus/diesel certification\n  <ul>\n   <li>With 12 months to complete 4 Diesel ASE certifications to maintain being a Diesel / Bus Auto Tech.  We will pay for this training/testing while working for us.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p>In addition, you can earn:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>$2.00 / hour for each additional Truck ASE certification.</li>\n <li>$5.00 / hour more working both Saturday and Sunday.</li>\n <li><strong>$500 tool allowance every year! </strong></li>\n <li>Yearly merit increases based on performance.  </li>\n</ul>\n<p>We offer a robust <strong>Total Rewards</strong><strong> </strong><strong>Package</strong> including, but not limited to:  </p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Paid Time Off</strong>, starting with 5 days upon hire and receiving a total of 12 days your first year, plus 6 holidays.  </li>\n <li><strong>Health, Dental, Vision insurance</strong>; Life Insurance; Prescription coverage  </li>\n <li><strong>Employee discounts</strong> on car rentals, car purchases, and much more!  </li>\n <li>401(k) retirement plan with company match and profit sharing  </li>\n <li>Paid ASE Testing</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Schedules (40 hours per week):</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Any 3 weekdays you choose: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, plus Saturday and Sunday: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM </li>\n <li>Monday thru Friday: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure that all warranty and mechanical repairs are completed according to the manufacturer’s specifications and guidelines.</li>\n <li>Provide safe and reliable vehicles upon completion of repairs.</li>\n <li>Perform routine and annual DOT required repairs and inspections.</li>\n <li>Read and interpret diagnostic test results, often by using dials, gauges, and other computer equipment.</li>\n <li>Raise trucks, buses, and heavy parts or equipment by using hydraulic jacks or hoists.</li>\n <li>Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and other parts of vehicles.</li>\n <li>Do routine maintenance, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and parts.</li>\n <li>Maintain vehicle repair history by documenting a Repair Order to accurately reflect steps taken and part(s) used during the repair.</li>\n <li>Comply with part and inventory tracking procedures.</li>\n <li>Utilize multiple manufacturers’ websites, software and diagnostic tools.</li>\n <li>May process new fleet, LOFR, tires, fuel reclamation or buy-backs.</li>\n <li>Participate in company and manufacturer approved training or other industry related training.</li>\n <li>Maintain the work area in a safe, clean condition and comply with all uniform and equipment standards. </li>\n <li>Maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance and punctuality</li>\n <li>Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.</li>\n <li>Follow proper procedures to comply with health, safety, and environmental standards.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em>Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veterans</em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be at least 21 years of age.</li>\n <li>Must have a current and valid driver’s license.\n  <ul>\n   <li>CDL preferred with passenger and air brake endorsements. </li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Minimum of five years of mechanical experience working on buses or medium duty trucks.</li>\n <li>Ability to operate manufacturer diagnostic equipment.</li>\n <li>Certifications required:\n  <ul>\n   <li>4 Truck ASE Certifications <strong>OR </strong></li>\n   <li>1 OEM / bus certification training required with the commitment to complete 4 Truck ASE’s within 12 months.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>PA State Inspection license (required within the first 90 days of employment)</li>\n <li>Must be able understand, read, write, and speak English.</li>\n <li>Subject to a pre-employment drug test and if hired, may be subject to random drug and alcohol testing.</li>\n <li>Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.</li>\n <li>Must be able to work one of the following schedules: \n  <ul>\n   <li>Any 3 weekdays: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, plus Saturday and Sunday: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM  </li>\n   <li>Monday thru Friday: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM </li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p>DOT Requirements:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We are subject to certain Department of Transportation Regulations</p>\n<ul>\n <li>All applicants must be at least 21 years of age and be qualified to drive under D.O.T. regulations.
