1. Company Background An Australian-based health and wellness e-commerce company specializing in peptide and beauty-focused supplements. The company is now in a critical scaling phase, actively removing manual processes and expanding across multiple specialized departments to sustain momentum and meet surging demand. 2. Why We Are Hiring With rapid growth has come rapid technical complexity. While our operational and marketing teams are scaling, our technical infrastructure requires a dedicated, visionary leader. The Co-Founders are currently managing highlevel strategy, investor relations, and brand growth, while our technical needs have been handled on an ad hoc basis by a generalist. This fragmented, reactive approach to technology is no longer sustainable and we are now replacing that function with a true technical leader. We need a senior technical leader who can assume full ownership of the company’s technology stack, digital products, and internal tools. This person will act as the brand’s CTO, providing the autonomy, speed, and agency required to build and iterate rapidly. They will be the central pillar of our technological ecosystem, allowing the Co- Founders to focus on scaling the business while trusting that our digital infrastructure is robust, innovative, and built for the future. 3. Role Title and Positioning Head of Tech / CTO While the foundational mechanics of this role involve comprehensive technical management and development, the successful candidate will essentially function as the company’s Chief Technology Officer. We have deliberately chosen the title “Head of Tech / CTO” because it accurately reflects the seniority, autonomy, and scope of the position while remaining appropriate for a high-growth e-commerce brand at our stage. This title carries the prestige and authority necessary for the candidate to command respect across all departments, and it signals to the individual that they are a core member of the company’s leadership team, not simply a senior developer. The Head of Tech reports directly to the Co-Founders and holds authority over all technical staff, architecture decisions, and development workflows. 4. Current Team Structure The Head of Tech will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and collaborating with the following team members across active departments. Tasks that will progressively be delegated to the Head of Tech, including Shopify development briefing, custom app architecture, AI tool integration, and technical vendor negotiations. This role also absorbs and elevates the responsibilities previously handled by our Ad Hoc Tech Specialist, including ongoing website quality checks, membership and recurring order fixes, and general technical troubleshooting. 5. Scope of Work and Key Responsibilities The Head of Tech will assume full responsibility for the following areas, organized by functional domain. 5.1 End-to-End Technical Architecture and Development The candidate must demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage the complete lifespan of any technical project, from inception and architecture planning through execution, quality assurance, and final deployment. They will oversee our core e-commerce platform (Shopify/WordPress) and ensure seamless integration across all systems. Every active technical workstream falls within this person’s purview. 5.2 AI Integration and “Vibe Coding” We are an AI-forward company. The ideal candidate must be highly proficient in leveraging modern AI coding assistants and “vibe coding” methodologies to rapidly prototype, build, and deploy internal dashboards, custom applications, and automation tools. They must understand how to use AI to multiply their output, turning complex requirements into functional software with unprecedented speed. 5.3 Cross-Departmental Technical Enablement This role requires the daily assessment of how technology can solve operational bottlenecks across all departments. The Head of Tech must ensure that Customer Experience, Media, and Design teams have the technical resources, automated workflows, and custom tools they need to execute at a high standard. They will build the dashboards that give our team real-time visibility into business metrics. 5.4 Proactive Problem Solving and Risk Mitigation This is not a reactive role. The ideal candidate must consistently think ahead, identifying potential technical roadblocks, security vulnerabilities, or scaling issues before they materialize.
