Description The Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Project Director provides strategic leadership, implementation, and oversight of New Mexico Solution’s CCBHC initiative. This role ensures compliance with SAMHSA and state requirements, drives quality improvement, coordinates interdisciplinary teams, and advances sustainable, integrated behavioral health services. Preference will be given to candidates who are licensed behavioral health professionals or registered nurses, ensuring clinical expertise is embedded in leadership and decision-making. Monitor compliance with federal, state, and CCBHC certification standards. Establish and track project timelines, performance metrics, and outcome measures. Coordinate across clinical, administrative, and support functions to ensure seamless implementation. Strategic Planning & Development Provide vision and direction for service integration across behavioral health, primary care, crisis services and substance use treatment. Identify opportunities for program innovation, service expansion, and long-term sustainability. Collaborate with executive leadership to align CCBHC initiatives with organizational goals and community needs. Staff & Team Management Supervise managers, coordinators, and project staff assigned to the CCBHC initiative. Provide leadership in staff recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and performance evaluation. Foster a team culture of collaboration, accountability, and trauma-informed, person-centered care. Partnership & Community Engagement Build and sustain partnerships with healthcare providers, criminal justice agencies, schools, and community-based organizations. Serve as the lead liaison with state agencies, SAMHSA, and other regulatory/funding partners. Represent New Mexico Solutions at professional conferences, community meetings, and advisory groups. Quality Improvement & Data Management Work with the quality team on collection, reporting, and evaluation of CCBHC outcomes. Implement continuous quality improvement (CQI) processes informed by data and evidence-based practices. Ensure timely, accurate reporting to funders and stakeholders. Fiscal & Compliance Oversight Collaborate with finance team to develop and manage program budgets. Ensure fiscal accountability and compliance with various reporting requirements. Prepare for internal and external audits, maintaining thorough documentation. Develop sustainability strategies to maintain and expand services over the long term. Qualifications Education and Experience: Master’s degree in Behavioral Health, Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Nursing, or related field (Doctorate preferred). Licensed or license-eligible professional in behavioral health (LCSW, LPCC, LMFT, Psychologist) or Registered Nurse (RN/BSN, MSN preferred) or Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) strongly preferred. Minimum 5 years progressive leadership in behavioral health, integrated care, or healthcare program management. Knowledge of CCBHC standards, evidence-based practices, and behavioral health systems. Demonstrated success in grant and compliance management. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in data-driven decision-making, quality improvement, and performance evaluation. Skills & Competencies: Leadership & Vision: Inspires and aligns diverse teams toward shared goals. Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of SAMHSA, Joint Commissioner and/or CARF standards, HIPAA, and state behavioral health requirements. Collaboration: Strong relationship-builder across internal and external stakeholders. Data & Evaluation: Skilled in interpreting outcomes and applying findings for improvement. Financial Acumen: Experienced in budget monitoring and fiscal management. Change Management: Skilled at supporting organizational transformation and fostering innovation. Work Environment Primarily office-based with routine travel to community sites, partner organizations, and state/federal meetings. Some after-hour availability is necessary. Hybrid/remote flexibility may be considered depending on organizational needs.
