Technical or trade school education in mechanical systems is a plus.\n Proven experience as a farm mechanic or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of agricultural equipment and machinery.\n Solid knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems.\n Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a variety of farm equipment, vehicles, and machinery.\n Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical drawings.\n Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to resolve equipment issues quickly and efficiently.\n Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.\n Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.\n Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.\n Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.\n Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays during peak seasons.\n WORKING CONDITIONS\n Work is performed both indoors in a maintenance shop and outdoors in farm fields, often around heavy machinery and moving equipment.\n Regular exposure to varying weather conditions including heat, humidity, rain, wind, and cold.\n Frequent exposure to loud equipment, engines, and harvesting machinery; hearing protection may be required.\n Work may involve exposure to dirt, mud, dust, grease, oil, and other agricultural residues.\n Work schedules may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays, particularly during planting and harvesting seasons.\n May require travel between farm locations to perform on-site repairs.\n Frequent use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, diagnostic devices, and heavy equipment.\n Repairs may need to be completed quickly to minimize equipment downtime during harvest operations.\n Requires strict adherence to safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).\n PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\n Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50–75+ lbs regularly\n Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and moving around fields or shop areas.\n Ability to climb onto and off large machinery, ladders, and platforms; frequent reaching above shoulders and below waist.\n Regular kneeling, squatting, and crawling under equipment to diagnose and repair machinery.\n Strong hand–eye coordination and ability to work with small parts, tools, and diagnostic instruments.\n Clear vision for inspecting equipment parts and identifying issues; ability to hear machinery sounds and alarms.\n Must be able to work long hours in physically demanding conditions, including heat and uneven terrain.\n Ability to safely operate and maneuver farm machinery, service trucks, and motor vehicles.\n COMPANY BENEFITS/PERKS\n 401(k)\n Health, Dental, Vision Insurance and more\n Paid Time Off (PTO)\n The company (Pero) reserves the right to alter, amend, expand or contract these duties and responsibilities as the companies needs evolve."
