This position is also involved in core actuarial functions of product design and pricing, or valuation of liabilities, and compliance related work.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p><strong>This is a Binghamton Home Office position.&nbsp;</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Description of Duties &amp; Responsibilities:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Create, setup and verify actuarial models in Excel, database software and MG-ALFA and Axis actuarial software. Support Illustration Actuary testing, pricing, profit analysis, and nonforfeiture testing.</li><li>Support the creation of actuarial memorandums for state filing and actuarial reports for management.</li><li>Support the implementation and testing of new products off our administrative and product development models.&nbsp;</li><li>Research and analyze competitive information relating to products, pricing, financial information and experience assumptions.&nbsp;</li><li>Provide additional support as needed to the department.&nbsp;</li><li>Continue to pass actuarial exams with the goal of becoming a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. Comply with program rules.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Required skills &amp; experience:</strong></p><ul><li>1 year of related experience required.</li><li>Minimum of 1 exam in progression towards the FSA designation required. Completion of 2 exams preferred.</li><li>Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.&nbsp;</li><li>Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word required.&nbsp;</li><li>Proficiency with MG-ALFA or Axis or other actuarial software preferred.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience with databases and the ability to program and write queries preferred.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong problem solving abilities.</li><li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.</li><li>Excellent attention to detail.</li><li>&nbsp;<span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">Ability to prioritize and organize a heavy workload.</span></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Education Required</strong>: Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in actuarial science or mathematics required.
