The position entails the manual processing of porcine urinary bladders, which includes all aspects from collection of raw materials to packaging of the final product. Following training, work will be expected to be performed independently to a high degree of standard in biomaterial handling, at all times following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Biotechnician l is the entry level into the Biotechnician job group.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Essential Functions</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Collection of raw materials&nbsp;</li><li>Rinse and initial cleaning of raw materials upon receipt&nbsp;</li><li>Separation and removal of unwanted tissues&nbsp;</li><li>Disinfection</li><li>Preparation of storage and cleaning solutions&nbsp;</li><li>Document and track materials and solutions&nbsp;</li><li>Process raw materials for final product including, but not limited to cutting/trimming to size, lyophilizing, and packaging&nbsp;</li><li>Perform inspections during processing as called for in SOPs.</li><li>Build, cut, package and label devices</li><li>Operation of specialty equipment (ex: lyophilizer, condenser, die press)</li><li>Cross-train and perform duties as needed in different process areas (clean rooms, raw materials etc)&nbsp;</li></ul><p>Additional Responsibilities</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Make suggestions that would improve the work environment or material processing&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Keep track of when supplies become low or need to be purchased</li></ul><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Perform other tasks as needed&nbsp;</li></ul><p>Required Education and Experience</p><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent</li></ul><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Similar experience preferred</li></ul><p>Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p><ul><li>Good work ethic, dependable and punctual</li><li>Able to work well in both group settings and independently</li><li>Flexible and adaptable to changing assignments</li></ul><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Working knowledge of GMP and ISO standards preferred</li></ul><p>Physical Requirements</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Repetitive motion of wrists, arms, and hands</li><li>Lifting of up to 40 lbs</li><li>Standing for two hours or more; sitting for two hours or more</li><li>Ability to properly apply and remove sterile gowning</li><li>Ability to work with raw materials (porcine bladders)</li></ul><p>Environmental Conditions</p><p>&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Clean room environment; must adhere to hygiene SOP</li><li>Must wear gowning as stated in SOP</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><em>&nbsp;</em></p><p><em>&nbsp;</em></p><p><em>&nbsp;</em></p><p><em>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment, transfer or promotion without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or veteran status.&nbsp;</em></p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p>\n    </div>\n  </div>\n",
