This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Samaritan Daytop Village.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>What You Will Do</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provides Food Services supervision to cooks toward building proficiency in institutional cooking.</li>\n <li>Supervise and maintain clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, equipment, and utensils.</li>\n <li>Monitors compliance with nutrition, sanitary regulations, and safety standards in work areas.</li>\n <li>Ensures that all food service operations comply with health and safety codes while adhering to the agency menu plan.</li>\n <li>Ensures meals are prepared and served (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) according to the Department Of Health as well as the Department of Homeless Services regulatory guidelines.</li>\n <li>Evaluate inventory and order kitchen materials within the guidelines of established purchasing protocols.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Who You Will Be</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Someone with a High School Diploma, High School Equivalency, or Culinary School training</li>\n <li>Food Protection Certificate issued by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.</li>\n <li>At least Two (2) years of relevant experience as a Cook in a restaurant or similar environment such as the NYC Department of Homeless Services (DHS) or another similar city-operated organization.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Good understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.</li>\n <li>Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients and staff.</li>\n <li>Available to work a flexible schedule as needed in response to participant and staff needs. </li>\n <li>Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.</li>\n <li>Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>#li-onsite</p>\n<p> </p>",
