Description

SUMMARY: The primary responsibilities of this position is to perform cashier functions, maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the Dining Room and provide exceptional service to guests. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides exceptional service to guests and other customers in a courteous manner. Greets guests at register and inquires about their experience in the dining room. Accurately completes guest check totals. Performs money exchanges, credit card processing, receipt processing and other cashier functions on designated register. Reports any guest complaints or concerns to immediate supervisor or manager for resolution. Is responsible for ensuring that all tables and chairs are correctly placed. May direct the activities of dining room staff as necessary. Maintains a clean work environment in the dining room to increase guest satisfaction and maintain defined sanitation guidelines. Is responsible for completing assigned side work including restocking workstations, cleaning tables and ice cream station and floor maintenance. Notifies supervisor or manager of situations that may affect guests, associates of the Lake or the Torches Resort Casino. Performs other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Performs position responsibilities under the direct supervision of the Dining Room Supervisor or Dining Room Manager checking with supervisor frequently for directions or questions. POSITION RELATIONSHIPS: Internal: Frequent contact with associates within all departments. External: Frequent contact with guests and visitors. EDUCATION: A high school education or equivalent is required. EXPERIENCE: A minimum of six months experience in cash handling or customer service is preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must possess accurate cash handling, math, interpersonal and communication skills. Must have basic knowledge of sanitation requirements. Must be able to work in a positive team environment. Must be able to manage and maintain confidential and sensitive information with diplomacy and tact. Must maintain a professional demeanor in stressful situations as necessary. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work Conditions: The majority of position responsibilities are performed within all areas of the restaurant with exposure to differentials in temperature. Exposure to Hazards: May be exposed to situations where spills, wet floors or guest behaviors may create undesirable conditions. Physical Requirements: Continual walking, bending, standing and lifting is required. BEHAVIORS: The vision, goals and objectives of Lake of the Torches Resort Casino requires the Cashier to perform on both a professional and personable manner. The manner in which the employee relates to fellow employees, customers and visitors is considered parallel in importance to technical knowledge and ability. Respect and consideration given to the dignity of each customer, visitor and fellow employee is a requisite of successful job performance. OTHER: Must attend all mandatory meeting and participate in departmental training and development sessions.
