This role will also include assisting our technical teams with diagnosing and optimizing existing tooling as well as designing for new construction.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Conceptualizes, plans and executes the design of progressive and modular stamping tooling.</li>\n <li>Analyzes product designs for manufacturing feasibility and makes improvement recommendations to shorten delivery time, cut costs and improve quality.</li>\n <li>Specifies purchased tooling components and follows through for timely and accurate delivery (die sets and other tooling components). </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Collaborates in a team environment with product designers, process engineers, production personnel, toolmakers, CNC programmers and various vendors to optimize tool design per suggestions of above team members. </li>\n <li>Publishes and disseminates models and drawings to management, programmers, toolmakers and other users.</li>\n <li>Assist in tracking tool progress in terms of both budget and timing.</li>\n <li>Follows and improve established standards and procedures including modeling techniques, file storage procedures and training in accordance with quality procedures.</li>\n <li>Assists in the development tooling standards in team-based environment.</li>\n <li>Participates in tooling design reviews providing suggestions for improvement where necessary.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n<p>This job has no supervisory responsibilities, but designers work in team environment.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum 5 years of experience progressive stamping tool design and layout.</li>\n <li>Functional familiarity with Die Cast process is desired</li>\n <li>Must understand tooling and manufacturing processes that relate to the industry.</li>\n <li>Must have strong General Machine Tools/Tool Room equipment skills.</li>\n <li>Must have the ability to visualize complex 3-dimensional geometry and motion. </li>\n <li>Must possess creative/innovative mechanical aptitude. </li>\n <li>Must have strong communication skills, both oral and written.</li>\n <li>Must have strong interpersonal skills.</li>\n <li>Must be willing and able to work in a team environment. </li>\n <li>Must have strong CAD skills (3-D tool design in Solidworks preferred)</li>\n <li>Functional familiarity with CAM software is desired.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE</strong></p>\n<p>Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>LANGUAGE SKILLS</strong></p>\n<p>Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS</strong></p>\n<p>Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>REASONING ABILITY</strong></p>\n<p>Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
