Description

Casual Rehabilitation Assistant – Surrey, BC Are you passionate about helping seniors live their best lives? Morgan Creek Seniors Community is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Casual Rehabilitation Assistant to support our residents in achieving their mobility, wellness, and rehabilitation goals within a Long-Term Care environment. What You’ll Do Support Therapists: Assist in carrying out established treatment programs and therapeutic activities under the direction of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. Empower Residents: Support residents with ambulation, transfers, positioning, restorative exercises, and safe use of mobility and rehabilitation equipment while promoting independence and dignity. Maintain Excellence: Set up, clean, and maintain treatment areas and equipment to ensure a safe, organized, and welcoming environment. Document & Communicate: Record resident participation, progress, and observations, and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team. Teamwork: Transport residents to and from treatment areas and assist with related clerical duties including inventory management, equipment tracking, and documentation support. Qualifications & Experience Completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program or equivalent related healthcare education. Current certification in CPR/First Aid preferred. Previous experience working in Long-Term Care, Assisted Living, or with seniors is required. Experience supporting residents with mobility challenges, restorative programs, dementia, and complex care needs is considered an asset. Knowledge of safe body mechanics, transfers, lifts, and mobility equipment. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
