Stat. §</span><span>148F.165, and staff member responsibilities. A paraprofessional may not make decisions to admit, transfer, or discharge a client but may perform tasks related to intake and orientation. A paraprofessional may be the responsible staff member according to<span> </span></span><span>Minn. Stat. §</span><span>245G.10, subdivision 3. A paraprofessional must not provide a treatment service unless qualified to do so according to section<span> </span></span><span>Minn. Stat. §</span><span>245G.07, subdivision 3.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><span>    2. Must meet </span><span>minimum qualifications</span><span> for Treatment Coordinator (described below).</span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span><span>    3. Basic understanding of substance<span> </span></span><span>use</span><span><span> </span>disorders and outcome-based treatment modalities.</span></span><br></p>\n<p><span><span>    4. Knowledge and understanding of Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 245A (Human Services Licensing Act – HSLA),            Chapter 245G (Chemical Dependency Licensed Treatment), Chapter 260E (Maltreatment of Minors Act –                    MOMA), 626.557 et seq. (Vulnerable Adults Act – VVA). </span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span><span>    5. A minimum of 2 </span><span>years</span><span> freedom from problematic substance use and ability to remain free from problematic                  substance use as a condition of employment.</span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span><span>    6. Ability to pass/clear DHS Background Study</span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span><span>    7. Compliance with rules adopted under MN Statutes, chapter 148</span><span>F</span><span>.</span></span><br><span><span> </span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>Treatment coordination provider qualifications</span><span> include:</span></span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span><span>Treatment coordination must be provided by qualified staff. An individual is qualified to provide treatment coordination if the individual meets the qualifications of an alcohol and drug counselor under subdivision 5 or if the individual:</span></span><span> </span></p>\n<ol>\n<li><span><span>is skilled </span><span>in the process of identifying</span><span> and assessing a wide range of client needs;</span></span><span> </span></li>\n<li><span><span>is knowledgeable about local community resources and how to use those resources for the benefit of the client;</span></span><span> </span></li>\n<li><span><span>has completed 15 hours of education or training on substance use disorder, co-occurring conditions, and care coordination for individuals with substance use disorder or co-occurring conditions that is consistent with national evidence-based standards;</span></span><span> </span></li>\n<li><span><span>meets one of the following criteria:</span></span><span> </span>\n<ol>\n<li><span> </span><span><span>has a bachelor's degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields; </span></span><span> </span></li>\n<li><span> </span><span><span>has a high school diploma or equivalent; or</span></span><span> </span></li>\n<li><span><span>is a mental health practitioner who meets the qualifications under section 245I.04, subdivision 4; and</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ol>\n</li>\n<li><span><span>either has at least 1,000 hours of supervised experience working with individuals with substance use disorder or co-occurring </span><span>conditions, or</span><span> receives treatment supervision at least once per week until obtaining </span><span>1,000 hours</span><span> of supervised experience working with individuals with substance use disorder or co-occurring conditions.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n<li><span><span>A treatment coordinator must receive the following levels of supervision from an alcohol and drug counselor or a mental health professional whose scope of practice includes substance use disorder treatment and assessments:</span></span><span> </span>\n<ol>\n<li><span><span>for a treatment coordinator that has not obtained </span><span>1,000 hours</span><span> of supervised experience under paragraph (a), clause (5), at least one hour of supervision per week; or</span></span><span> </span></li>\n<li><span><span>for a treatment coordinator that has obtained at least </span><span>1,000 hours</span><span> of supervised experience under paragraph (a), clause (5), at least one hour of supervision per month.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ol>\n</li>\n</ol>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>Required Skills</span></span></span><span><span>: </span></span><span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>The ability to develop and </span><span>maintain</span><span> collaborative and synergistic relationships across multiple constituencies, including internal staff, health care agencies, clients, and families. </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Maintain </span><span>appropriate boundaries</span><span> with staff and clients in all circumstances to promote a positive, </span><span>energetic,</span><span> and therapeutic environment. </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Ability to handle ambiguous situations with tact and good judgment. </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Working </span><span>proficiency</span><span> in computer skills (Word, Excel, </span><span>Procentive</span><span>). </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Because Momentum Center is a 24/7, 365 </span><span>program</span><span>, the ability to work flexible hours is </span><span>required</span><span>.</span></span><span> On-Call rotation.</span></li>\n</ul>",
