This role requires strong clinical judgment and the ability to respond quickly to obstetric emergencies.</p><p>Nurses in this role may also provide coverage for <strong>Medical/Surgical units</strong> when needed.</p><h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Provide comprehensive nursing care for <strong>laboring mothers and newborns</strong> during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.</li><li>Monitor maternal and fetal conditions using <strong>fetal monitoring equipment and clinical assessment tools</strong>.</li><li>Assist physicians during labor, delivery, and emergency obstetric procedures.</li><li>Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders.</li><li>Provide postpartum care including <strong>maternal recovery monitoring, newborn assessments, and breastfeeding support</strong>.</li><li>Educate patients and families on <strong>postpartum care, newborn care, and recovery expectations</strong>.</li><li>Respond rapidly to <strong>obstetric emergencies such as fetal distress or maternal complications</strong>.</li><li>Document patient care and clinical findings using the <strong>Cerner electronic medical record system</strong>.</li><li>Float to <strong>Med/Surg units</strong> when staffing requires.</li><li>Collaborate with physicians, midwives, pediatric teams, and interdisciplinary staff.</li></ul><h2>Requirements</h2><ul><li>Active <strong>RN license</strong></li><li>Minimum <strong>2 years Labor &amp; Delivery experience</strong></li><li>Cerner experience required</li></ul><h2>Schedule</h2><ul><li>12-hour night shifts (6 PM &#8211; 6 AM)</li><li>Every other weekend may be required</li><li>COVID vaccination not required (declination accepted)</li></ul>",
