Join our growing team supporting customer missions as a <strong>Geospatial Programmer</strong> in <strong>McLean</strong><strong>, Virginia</strong>.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Developing custom code, scripts, modules, macro procedures, libraries, and dynamically linked libraries for geospatial analysis functions using Python to augment and analyze data</li>\n <li>Providing ad-hoc support for writing scripts in Python and other coding languages to help automate geoprocessing of large datasets in response to analysts’ needs. Instructing and assisting analysts in writing custom code and scripts as needed</li>\n <li>Leveraging available computing resources to handle very large geospatial datasets, creating efficiencies in data management including data deduplication and reduction, streamlining geospatial data processing, and scaling processes from regional to global</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:   </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Bachelor's degree in computer science, geography, or related area of study (relevant experience may be substituted for a degree)</p></li>\n <li><p>Senior Labor Category: Minimum 8 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 7 years of experience with a Master’s degree; or 6 years of experience with a Doctorate</p></li>\n <li><p>Python Development & Automation – Scripting for data analysis, workflow automation, and application development</p></li>\n <li><p>Data Modeling & Databases – Experience modeling geospatial data and working with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)</p></li>\n <li><p>Geospatial & Image Processing – Spatial data analysis, image data extraction, and strong geospatial reasoning skills</p></li>\n <li><p>Software & IT Support – Troubleshooting, system integration, and customer support</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Desired Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Big Data & Scalable Analytics – Distributed computing and large-scale data optimization</li>\n <li>Data Engineering & Infrastructure – Scalable data pipeline development, performance optimization, and data management best practices</li>\n <li>Software Development Workflows – Experience with Git, Jira, and writing technical documentation</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What you can expect from us</h2>\n<p><em>BCore is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
