Since integrating with our therapeutic development business, Fulgent is also developing drug candidates for treating a broad range of cancers using a novel nanoencapsulation and targeted therapy platform. By merging our fields of expertise, we aim to become a fully integrated precision medicine company. Summary of Position The Senior Genomics Sales Director is responsible for the overall health and performance of the assigned region. In partnership with the direct manager (Regional Vice President), you are responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies based on opportunity analysis and reviewing results from business analytics. You are responsible for (minimally) meeting your region’s sales goals and quotas, creating and maintaining a Regional Business Plan, analyzing data, creating and managing your region’s data in the Salesforce CRM, completing assigned sales and company training, and overall maintenance and growth of your region. You must be extremely well informed about Fulgent’s service menu and associated science, the markets in which they serve, and therefore be able to accurately forecast sales predictions, shifts in the marketplace, understand the competitive landscape, and educate your manager of potential product improvements and development. As Senior Genomics Sales Director, you will serve as a field advisor to your immediate manager. You must possess an entrepreneurial drive to own the territory as if the role is an independent franchisee of Fulgent Genetics, being responsible for the overall profit and loss of the region. Key Job Elements Maintain consistent contact with customers, prospects, other business partners to ensure a seamless flow of new products and sales information. Entrepreneurial and ownership mentality. Strategic and consultative selling approach. Adaptability and growth mindset. Achieve revenue goals through strategic planning and development. Conduct market analysis, development sales plans, and adjust sales tactics based on business analytics. Resilience and competitive drive. Act as an advisor to your direct manager on various sales aspects such as business intelligence analysis, market trend analysis, strategy development, and business plan execution. Maintain an elevated level of technical and market expertise and educate the market on proper utilization and acceptance of Fulgent's products and services. Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the capabilities of Fulgent's technologies. Strong scientific and technical aptitude to deliver technical presentations, scientific discussions, seminars/webinars, and product demonstrations. Strong Salesforce CRM knowledge and daily commitment. Acquire market intelligence and feedback and provide the information to your direct manager. Develop and foster strong working relationships with customers, prospects, and business partners. Actively gather content for the marketing team for applications notes, web content and new applications. Qualifications Knowledge/Experience Bachelor's or Master's degree; preference will be given to candidates with a degree in the life sciences. Minimum of three (3) years of successful clinical genomics diagnostics sales experience required. A verifiable record of sales accomplishments spanning at least five (5) years that shows competency in meeting sales goals, negotiations, and selling to customer needs. Experience calling on Children’s Hospitals and academic institutions in the rare diseases market strongly preferred. Experience in dealing with a range of senior stakeholders. Self-directed with strong work ethics and initiative. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrably good at working within multicultural, geographically dispersed teams. Strong ownership skills. Salesforce CRM competence. Ability to interpret and explain policies, procedures, rules and/or regulations to clinicians and the public. Ability to use tact and diplomacy to establish and maintain cooperative relationships when dealing with the needs, problems, and/or concerns of clinicians, the public, and/or outside agencies. Ability to travel up to 50% of the time. Compensation The compensation package includes a commission plan in addition to the advertised base salary. The compensation offered is for the first year, and depends on several factors including but not limited to technical knowledge in the genomics and rare diseases market, sales acumen, total years of experience, and location. On target earnings (OTE) are an estimate based on reaching 100% of quota. OTE is not guaranteed, but can be considered a guideline based on average performance. Total OTE for this role is between $170,000 - $200,000 in the first year of employment. Car mileage is expensed at current GSA rates.
