In this role, you will manage the design disciplines during the design phase and assist during the construction phase. Your experience in an architecture firm and on the construction site will be key to this position. Additionally, your experience in schools and/or public agencies will be a plus.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">ABOUT YOU<br></span></span><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">You are a professional with minimum of 10</span> <span style=\"font-size: 15px\">years full-time paid experience for the Design Manager role, and 15 years for the Senior Design Manager role.  You have experience managing facilities design, or the planning and coordination of capital projects that includes the overall design, contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling activities. 5 years of this experience must be with the design, planning and construction of educational facilities or similar public agencies.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">BASIC QUALIFICATIONS</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Plans, organizes, and directs the design activities for School Upgrade Programs and critical repair projects. Functions as the lead design professional in the Design Department providing quality review, implementation of policy and procedures and interface and coordinates with the Division of State Architects (DSA).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Manages, develops, and coordinates the design process to ensure that plans are within functional program, budgetary, environmental, and legal requirements.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Manages multiple projects through interaction with Architects, consultants, and personnel from project conception, through draft to final review, approval, and handoff to Project Execution.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Oversees the building design process to ensure compliance with standards and guidelines by working with design professionals and various administrators to ensure that new and modernized structures meet both educational and building standards requirements.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Establishes and follows a process to identify and select the architectural firm best suited for each project based on the firms’ qualifications and ability to meet performance standards.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Provides Architects with clear and consistent direction regarding goals and objectives, standards, site, schedule, and budget for each project.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Establishes and follows an effective and efficient design review process to ensure that the design meets the overall goals and objectives for the project, provides maximum value for dollars budgeted, and are appropriate and enduring to meet the functional needs of the local community, and the environment.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Ensures that decisions are made in a timely manner.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Ensures that all steps within the project are documented and that the documentation meets legal requirements.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Reviews design changes submitted to ensure project remains within budget.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Recommends architectural firm assignment from an established list of pre-qualified architectural firms.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Participates in community relations and outreach programs to create understanding and acceptance of building projects design within the community.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Coordinates with a host of professional staff who support the design.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Develops continuing education opportunities, i.e., seminars and workshops, to learn and share-up-to-date information on working with architects and contractors.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Coordinates project activities with other organizational branches and departments.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Performs other duties as assigned.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Minimum 10-15 years full time paid professional experience managing the facilities design, or the planning and coordination of capital projects that includes the overall design, contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling activities.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">5 years of this experience must be with the design, planning and construction of educational facilities or similar public agencies.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">PREFERRED LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California Architectural Board or </span>Professional Engineer by the State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Citadel is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace environment.
