Our commitment gives you opportunities to impact on and off the job positively.&nbsp;</p><p>Join Our Team as a<strong> Technical Proposal Specialist/Engineer!</strong></p><p><strong>Work arrangement:&nbsp;</strong>Hybrid (4 days WFH)</p><p><strong>Compensation</strong></p><p>At S&amp;C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members&nbsp;and are committed to transparency in our pay practices.&nbsp;<strong>The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $87990 - $116578.</strong> Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training.&nbsp;</p><p>This position may also be eligible for S&amp;C’s annual incentive plan (AIP). AIP amounts are variable and are dependent on both company and individual performance, subject to eligibility criteria. The target bonus percentage for this role is 5% of annual base earnings.</p><p>As part of the sales support in the custom Metal-Enclosed Switchgear (MES) department, the Technical Proposal Specialist/Engineer acts as liaison between the sales team and S&amp;C’s design &amp; production teams. The individual will handle all quotes and orders for medium voltage (MV) metal-enclosed switchgear in assigned territories.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Review customer project specifications and single-line diagrams to determine requirements.</li><li>Review conditions of service documents for power utilities in Canada and/or US, to understand service entrance equipment requirements.</li><li>Prepare proposal sketches showing device arrangement &amp; switchgear dimensional layout customized to site’s electrical and dimensional constraints.</li><li>Participate in customer site visits &amp; meetings to understand constraints required to accurately design switchgear layout.</li><li>Prepare pricing to go along with technical proposals and commercial strategies for each request.</li><li>Prepare detailed design specifications for electrical and mechanical designers to create detailed switchgear drawings.</li><li>Review switchgear drawings and follow-up on implementation of design change requests.</li><li>Provide customers, sales &amp; design with timely responses to technical inquiries using resources within S&amp;C and engineering knowledge.</li><li>Coordinate project requirements from order entry to shipping.</li><li>Participate in virtual &amp; physical customer-witnessed Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).</li><li>Frequently visit the production shop to continuously develop &amp; visualize switchgear design concepts.</li><li>Participate in improving current processes using 4-Step Problem Solving methods.</li><li>Provide technical MES proposals with minimal support.</li><li>Liaise directly with end-customers on behalf of sales, when required.</li><li>Work on complex proposals with minimal support.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>What we are looking for:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.</li><li>5+ years of experience working with electrical equipment in either a technical design, commercial customer service, or manufacturing function.</li><li>Understanding of power system protection &amp; control applications for low and/or medium voltage electrical distribution.</li><li>Intermediate knowledge of medium voltage switchgear design</li><li>Technical knowledge and ability to propose S&amp;C’s MES-related products – Vista, System VI &amp; PMH/PME</li><li>Ability to read electrical single-line diagrams.</li><li>Knowledge of electrical standards for electrical equipment – UL, CSA, ANSI, IEEE.</li><li>Experience with MicroStation or other CAD software.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>P.Eng is considered an asset.</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Effort:</strong></p><p>Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace.
